Countach, we meet again! Last week I posted !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and humbly asked you, internet, to hash out whether this thing is the real deal or not.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Well the votes for were about equal to the votes against. I happened by it again over the weekend (I swear I'm not stalking this car) and luckily the owner had rolled it out so I snapped another pic.

Kinja'd!!!

I'm still not sure about this Lambo's pedigree but as I said before it's a head turner. I think I could have fun in it. What do you think? Would you drive it if it was a kit?

Like this mess? Check out my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to see more Autos at Large

I'm thinking kit, but yes I would want to drive it anyway.

If it's a kit, then it's one of the better ones.

I would drive it, but totally a kit. Decent one for sure, but there is no doubt in my mind

Yeah, it's lookin' like a kit, but it's very good (from this distance). Only a few things give it away: exhaust, rocker sills, wheels and corner markers. Proportions are good, shapes are right, panel fit looks pretty good. Quite convincing. depending on what it has for engine and chassis, it might be a lot of fun ;)

Look at where it is parked. No real Countach is gonna be parked outside of that house.

It's totally a kit. Besides the aforementioned proportion/rocker/exhaust issues, the badges on the rear are all wrong. The wheels are aftermarket pieces. I can't think of the manufacturer right now, but they are common. Also, the scoops on the rear quarters are too tall and the wrong shape.

Still, one of the better plastic fantastics I've seen.

It looks even better in this new pic, so I'll say that it does appear to be a very nicely done replica. I stand by my earlier statement about the wheels, and add further evidence.

It's hard to tell from the grainy photo, but the wheelwell flares & bumper skirt appear to be one piece with the body. LP 400S & LP 500S (which this most resembles) have fender flares that are added on, with visible seams:

Also, the rocker panels have a constant convex curve down to the bottom with only a thin vertical lip, whereas your car's curve becomes more vertical before meeting the floor:

I agree it's a replica, and agree with everything else you mentioned except the badges on the rear. They do look fairly accurate to an LP500S/5000S The "countach" should be a bit lower & closer to the "5000", otherwise they look good:

Replica, but a very well done one. If it passed me on the highway, I would think its real. If it has some exotic motor (or an LS) I would drive the heck out of that.

It's a replica. You can tell by the house.

My opinion is it's a kit for the following reasons

- Wheels are not original. There is a variety of wheels for this model; however these ones for some reason look unfamiliar.

- See that sort of box where the exhausts should be? That doesn't look right either (See this sister:

Kinja'd!!!

- There is also something about proportions that is not right. But that could be picture quality.

- Stickers/Labelling do seem to be in the proper place. Backlights do seem the same

Nothing elitist about it. Just an observation that cars worth six figures usually aren't kept in the garages of houses with folding chairs on the porch.
