As you are all probably aware by now, as I have been posting pictures and rubbing in your faces, that I took an awesome trip to Italy. Well when I left I promised you all many awesome pictures of all the cool cars I would find on my awesome trip to awesome Italy...

Kinja'd!!!

Alas, I awesome failed.

I did not acquire many awesome pics of awesome cars in awesome places. I, instead, foolishly allowed my mother to make all the reservations, which means she booked a bus tour, and I had nearly zero time to walk around and drool over cars and take pictures. I did catch this Alfa Spyder in Sorrento while checking into my hotel. It was sexy.

Kinja'd!!!

I also found this totally awesome stretched Fiat taxi on Capri. I almost missed the shot as I stumbled in awe for my phone.

Kinja'd!!!

And finally I found this W114(115?) hiding along the Amalfi coast.

I saw many Alfas, Fiats, Lancias, Renaults, and Opels from my bus window as we rushed by, but never enough time to capture an awesome pic on my awesome potato.

Highlights were the vast number of classic Fiat 500's, Alfa Guilttas and Mito's (which I am 100% in love with after seeing them in person [fuck off Alfa bring awesome shit to America you assholes]), and a Lancia Delta (non evo just regular but still cool).

Me too... Me too.

So many classic 500's I almost came. some in such despair I almost cried though. I also saw (and heard) a few well modded classic 500's and again, almost came.

Did I mention I saw A LOT of classic 500s. I tried fitting one into my carry on luggage to sneak back into the US but I couldn't fit it and all the LemonCello I brought back...

Put the LemonCello inside the fiat and put the Fiat in your luggage.

What part of the country were you in? I was mostly in big cities (Rome, Naples, Sorrento) so mostly everything I saw was run of the mill small cars that we don't get here so still awesome.

It was not too bad, only about $900 per person.

Started in Rome, then went to Positano/Sorrento, then Assisi, Florence, Padua, Volterra and finally Venice.

Ah, I should clarify. This is roundtrip out of DEN. The cheapest Sept/Oct flights I'm seeing are about $1100, oddly about the same as MUC, which is usually a lot cheaper. As you said, not bad at all (by recent standards at least). Not sure we can handle a Euro-length flight with our kid just yet. We did 3+ hours okay. Next up might be Hawaii as a stepping stone to a true long haul.

Yea I went Vegas to Boston (5.5 hrs), Boston to Rome (8.5 hrs) and it was a bit much even for me.

I believe it. Boston-Rome is a long leg. A few years ago I booked a business trip on the non-stop Denver to Munich (they don't have it anymore, I don't think). Somewhere over Greenland I decided that maybe a connection wouldn't have been so bad after all.
