Froom, Cavandish, and Contador are all out. I can't remember a tour with this many big time riders crashing out. I've also not seen a tour with this much rain. Apparently in a fall on a decent Contador crashed so hard his bike broke in half. He tried to continue but pulled off at the top of a recent climb. I hope there is someone left in this race who can challenge Nibali.

So many bad crashes this year. Contador going out really changes the complexion of the next two weeks. Im still pulling for the two American riders (Talansky and van Gargeren) but my money would be on Nibali.

Yeah I'm even more disappointed now at the time lost by Teejay and Andrew due to those late stage falls. The top step of the podium would be wide open for them if they hadn't lost all that time.

I'm still two days behind in my watching (I DVR all of it), but yeah, this year is brutal. I hope there are riders left when they get to Paris.

Reports of skid marks 70 m long. I don't think I recall another Tour this wet.

Yeah... rain is evil on bikes like this.
