Lend me your ear fellow opponauts, as I need to ask you something real quick.
I have recently acquired a VXR steering wheel with much leathery loveliness for my Corsa, which is indeed rather nice. However, this new wheel doesn't have an airbag. PROBLEM.
What I want to know is, would it be possible to have the airbag from my current steering wheel transplanted into the new one and then popped on just like that?
Have a picture of an AE86 achieving flight for your time.
(Bonus points: what's the yellow car on the left of this picture? Thanks!)

I doubt that's possible. I thought the VXR steering wheel has air bag.
The yellow car is Toyota Celica.

KnowsAboutCars got it, it's a 1980/81 Celica Coupe. The B-pillar is a dead giveaway.

It did have an airbag, but it's gone bang as the car it was previously attached to was in a crash. I wasn't sure if I could just pop mine in, simple as.

Thats not a Subie. Rear window and c-pillar is wrong for the coupe with that front end. The ones without the second vent window all had a different grill and headlight treatment, also the chrome is wrong... I think that's a Toyota Celica...

In that case it might work if the same airbag has been used in both steering wheels.

that'd be a pretty scary transfer given that you're trying to transplant a small electronically controlled bomb.
Ditch the airbag and go 5 point harness instead. Avoid contact with the steering wheel all together.

Yeah, it's all the same stuff with Vauxhalls. I'll run it down to my local mechanic, see if he's willing to do it for me.

Yeah, I'd rather not have it go off in my face (hehe).
I'll probably run it down to my local mechanic, see if he's willing to have a go at it.
Very tempted to go 5 point harness, but I'm holding out for some VXR Nurburgring seats :)
