I'm stumped, and would like to know the reason for that abbreviation. I can't find anything. Yet.

It's Danish or Swedish. I found a higher res version of the picture and was able to see the network bug in the corner. A little Googling and I had it.

Nope it's a Norwegian network. NRK 1, the channel, is one of the main Norwegian networks so it has to be Norwegian. And a quick wiki search confirms it as Norwegian.
*Edit* Thanks for the help though.

Makes sense. I thought it was ARK, not NRK. The network logo I found only identified it as a Scandinavian network. I tried a translation for Finnish, then Danish, got a hit, tried Swedish, got the same result. The Norwegian word is the same. Oh well, I learned something. I learned that Scandinavian languages are inscrutable, as just about every other country uses a variation on "Allemagne."

Yeah, the Scandinavian languages are all pretty close in some areas. I'm of Norwegian descent so it's something that's very interesting to me. It seems all Latin based languages use the "Allemange" or Alemania. Is Allemange French or Italian?

Allemagne is French. The Italian word is Germania .
