It's thanks to this wonderful group of guys that I'm keeping Zoe the Z. Who cares that it's automatic? I enjoy driving it, and all of these guys in the group are just the best people ever. They love their cars, they love everyone else's cars, and they give one another the best respect and act with the greatest fraternity in the world. I don't know of any other group like it and, unless I end up with another Z, I'm sticking with this car. I had the most amazing day with them, and here's how it went down.
We started out at Supercar Sunday.
Some BMW guys showed up too.
Some $kaybait showed up just before the whole group of Fairlady Generations guys set out at 9:30 and headed for Mulholland.
We got up there and pulled off for some pictures, including the one at the very top and this one. Someone in a 2JZ Plymouth Scamp came up with us too. All of the guys made it up the mountain fine, except for someone in a Fairlady 2000 Roadster, who lost his brakes.
I left before the rest of the group so I could get photos of them as they went by. After this, we were scheduled to go to the Lavaggio, an auto detailing place which looked like a freakin' hotel. I got stuck at a light and had to catch up with the rest of the group at the Lavaggio.
This place was seriously beautiful.
Once we were there and all parked up, I was able to have lunch with the creator of Supercar Sunday in LA and a kid who drove the car below. The creator of Supercar Sunday was a really cool, nice guy who daily drove an STI, but had 8 or so older Chevys which he was restoring, were restored or were restomoded.
Yup, that's right! A 16 year old kid drove up in an MP4-12C. It was his dad's, but he drove it more than his father! His dad's daily driver is a Bentley Mulsanne.
All of us had lunch, curtisy of the Lavaggio, Supercar Sunday and Universal City Nissan. Then, everyone plopped down inside the Lavaggio and watched the game!
It was really amazing to see and hang out with all of the Fairlady guys once again.
Lastly, someone brought an imported RHD 280Z! This is his daily driver, but he also owns an R32 GTR.
