The LeSabre is putting put code P0420 which means Blaze It, and that something's wrong with my catalytic converter, which means that I did, in fact, ruin the O2 sensor by heating it up with a blowtorch.

Damn.

Unfortunately, ZZP wants $50 for the part (fake or real, fake is actually more expensive) so I might just go without for now.

Cat delete with welds too close to the sensor?

More like "sensor welded itself into the pipe so we had to resort to a blowtorch to take it out and the piece of metal that covers the plug is riveted into place instead of screwed so that was our only option to get the exhaust out and in the process we kinda ruined the sensor by melting a couple parts (mostly the threads)"

ouch, old threads are the worst. So glad i can delete o2 sensors post cat, those old things took a beating

Yup. It's a royal pain. I'd like to get an o2 sensor emulator instead of bothering with fixing the threads but ZZP wants $50 for one and they're out of stock. If I knew what sort of signal they sent out or how they worked I'd just make my own, but I don't know if it's a frequency, just a resistance, or even what the pinout is. Blech.
