I found this at the Toyota booth outside the NASCAR race I'm at. There were "Prototype" stickers all over it. More pictures inside.

Why can't we get this in a two door from toyota that doesn't have a Lexus badge on it?

i like it but it will not out perform the Raptor in off road situa...
......
...LOL fucking 80% ofbro dawgs that buy Rators do not do anything considered "real" off roading. Toyota has this Tundra, a nice truck to start with, and added all the awesome TRD items to it without going full bro dawg. I see what you did there Toyota. Let the children bitch and moan that it cant compete with the Raptor, I see what you are doing and good move. Plus 504HP and 550TQ, holy tits! A beast on the street where this and the Raptor will spend most of their lives.

They should put this engine in the BRZ and keep it.

Full Disclosure: I know that the Raptor is an extremely capable off-roading, dune jumping, road legal pickup truck... But that's not what really 'sells' it. If Ford had just given a F-150 FX4 the suspension out of a Raptor and didn't put on the different nose, graphics, fender flares, etc... the truck probably wouldn't have sold like it did. I have the feeling a good number of Raptors were bought because it looks more like a trophy truck then a normal F-150 does, and people like being seen in it because of that.
This Tundra doesn't convey the same 'feel' as the Raptor does when I look at it. No wide fender flares, no crazy graphics on the side, no marker lights all over it. Looks to me like a Tundra painted bright orange with black wheels on it.

2 points:
1. Toyota will tell you this doesn't compete with the raptor
2. This is already headed for production along with a Tacoma and 4runner in the same family of upgrades, in fact the Tundra may have the least upgrades to it.

I dunno, a lot of the people who by Toyota 4WD's (sans Lexus) use them. Because, well used to they didn't die, even when you beat the shit out of them.

I thought the 4Runner got the least upgrades. Isn't it that they all get the same suspension upgrades and the Tundra and Tacoma get the TRD engine upgrades, but the 4Runner does not?

nope, no engine upgrades on any of the models though the tundra has an optional supercharger that isnt related to the trd pro package. the 4runner gets more lift and travel all around

LX are great, but I have a feeling most aren't taken too far out of a mall parking lot.

The Tacoma and Tundra do get the TRD exhaust and intake, the 4Runner does not.

lol true. When I was a tech at a Lexus dealer in San Antonio Texas, some did come in fairly dirty from the owner's properties in the Texas Hill country. Though, in the urban jungle, not too much. Same with Raptors and Range Rovers.

Thats true, but its more a noise package than anything else. Either way, they are all great trucks imo, but the one I would buy is the Tacoma or 4Runner.

I would definitely buy the 4Runner, but I am biased.

Also biased.
Mine is the cruiser.
