What ya guys think?? Just picked her up!

From the airport. For the next few days. ;)

In all seriousness I'm really happy with this over any of the American or Japanese offerings. A German chassis makes all the difference.

I actually like the look of them, need to drive one some day. They should all come standard with these wheels though,

The Beetle?! Broken?!

Wait...how did you know? The temp readout was 195 degrees the entire hour drive I just did. Car drove fine and def wasn't overheating so I'm assuming it's a faulty sensor.

I agree. I hadn't driven one before today and I quite like it. I think there needs to be a Beetle R though with the Golf R's drivetrain and a little ducktail spoiler. Would look awesome.

Weird. Those look like TDI wheels O.o

The 1.8T isn't bad at all. But by your tone I'm guessing 2.5...

I actually don't know. Will check going to get food soon. I'm betting 1.8 though...it's a non-premium rental.

But the Focus is German designed as well, as far as I know.

There's no N/A 1.8. They're turbocharged. So the 1.8T would be the better option. VW handicapped the 2.5 so its much less peppy.

If it says TSI on the engine cover, then you've got the 1.8T, and hoon till your heart's content.

Awesome! IMO, the New new Beetle is much more masculine than the previous one with the little flower vase in the fashboard.

Had one of these for 2 weeks as a rental last month. It is the 2.5L NA motor. Slow as crap. You have to floor it everywhere just to keep up with traffic, meaning your MPG takes a serious hit (I averaged 18 in mixed city / highway).

In the two weeks I had it, three sensors went bad. The car was convinced the passenger door was open, that the passenger wasn't wearing their seatbelt (I had nothing in the passenger seat), and it kept telling me the tank was empty (dummy light was on even though gauge showed full). Mind you, this was on one with literally 2,000 miles on it.

I want to love Volkswagen, I really do... but apparently it's not just a stereotype.

I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. The ones making the best chassis are the French (well for this class of car at least).

If you ever come to Europe try to rent a Peugeot 308, doesn't look the part, but the chassis is one of the best ever put in a compact car of this segment. Even the British (notorious for their Peugeot hate) praised it.

The only problem of the car being : A) a crappy automatic gearbox, B) you can't get any (really) powerful engine on it for the moment
