So, after almost being crushed by a public transit bus today I've decided that I need to invest in a dashcam. I don't have a huge budget though. Got !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from NewEgg Flash today. They are Asian based, but the price is right. I found this video test for the AT008 (one I like the most) and it looked pretty good. What do you think? Can I do better than $80? Thanks!

I'm looking for a dash cam for around the same price (sub $100), so I'm just gonna piggyback off this thread, if that's okay with you. If it isn't, let me know, and I will probably do it anyway.

I've done my fair share of research. There's two cameras that I keep coming across.

1. Mobius Action Cam. It's around $80 for the full package, but it's a great camera. It doesn't have a big screen, but I like how it's much more concealable (hides easily behind the rear view mirror). http://mobius-actioncam.com/

2. G1W. This camera is praised by reviewers, and only costs about $50 from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Box-1920…

Here's a good review of the G1W. Everyone agrees, it's the best -cheap- dash cam.

I just bought a G1WH, which is the slightly updated version of the G1W. It has a 140 degree FOV vs the G1W's 120 degrees, and the face is all black so it blends in better. I think it was $52 or so. Amazon is a good suggestion, FoxOffer is also good (they drop-ship from the manufacturer, mine came from Malaysia). I haven't installed it in my car yet, but in playing around with it I've been pretty pleased with the quality.

But seriously, like I'd care! Youre funny! I need one now because the drivers here are trying to kill me.
