I changed out the front axles in the Loyale today. First time I've done axles, but it turned out well. I had a bit of an issue getting the retaining pin in the second one but she's in there now.
This car is very easy to work on. Once the wheels were off I only had to remove two bolts in order to pull the axle out. I concluded with a nice Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale as I did not have any culturally appropriate Sapporo or Asahi on hand.
Because the CV boots had been busted for a while (they were busted when I bought the car), there was axle grease everywhere. I ended up being covered in it. Here is the stuff I used to get it off. We buy it wholesale for our non-automotive business and it works better than anything I've ever used. We originally got it because it was sold as all natural. For whatever reason they stopped putting that on the containers. We buy if from these guys in Louisiana.

Nice choice. I like their 805. Was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.

I'm a big fan of all their beers. Costo had a 24 variety pack a month back which was awesome.

Is your car 4wd??
Where do you get parts online?
A friend is selling me a not running 2wd 82 GL for $200 and I want to make it a rally Xbeater.

Yes, mine is 4WD. http://www.partsgeek.com/ has all the parts for these cars, and they're cheap too.
