So, as I wrote the other day, it's time for Part 2.

This was a more recent, and not very planned acquisition by the old man. (This is why you shouldn't put stupid bids in on things on eBay.)
As you can see, Charlotte the dog has made another appearance. Along with my unnamed car. What we have here is another Ford C-series. This isn early 80s Ford C-800, with a Pierce Pumper body. Another Allison Automatic, but this one doesn't have spark plugs.
I'm not sure of the exact name of the engine, but it's roughly a 500 cubic inch Detroit Diesel designed to be more fuel efficient. And even better, it doesn't work. Yay. Not sure what the issue is, we've spent a little time on it. (I live 700 miles away from the truck, so there are some issues working on things.) We left the cab tilted so my dad could get back in and work on it. Other makes have hydraulic jacks....this one doesn't. Normally a C-Series cab isn't too big of an issue, but with the cab extenders, the rear facing seat, and air tanks mounted to the cab, it's a bear.
But, it's 4 wheel drive. It took me until the 3rd time I saw the truck to realize that it had super singles out back. It's big. The truck is TALL. And getting the cab tilted up is at least a 2 man effort.
So. That's that. And no, I don't know why we have it.
