Magnus Walker, the man behind Serious Clothing and Urban Outlaw spoke at TEDxUCLA earlier this spring about his life story, Porsche passion and general outlook on life. That talk is now available online via YouTube and it is a great portrait of a unique man with tremendous automotive passion.

Check it out if you have twenty minutes, it does not disappoint.

Magnus Walker is driving up the prices on vintage Porsche cars. Ergo, I do not like him.

I have nothing but respect for the guy, he is a self-made man and I appreciate it. As if vintage Porsche prices were going anywhere but up...

He's got to be the most laid-back self-made millionaire in the world.

He's clearly been very fortunate, but he's also taken advantage every time a opportunity presented itself in his life.

"Success is the freedom to do whatever you want." Great line.

I agree, I find Magnus to be very inspiring. Lands in LA with nothing to his name, sleeping on park benches and follows his passions (sometimes unconventional) and experiences great success.

Reminds me that I need to focus less on what is a 'normal career path' and forge my own.

After seeing the Petrolicious listing for a graphic designer, the same thought has been keeping me up at night. Right now I have a job that pays me very well for something that comes pretty easy to me, but it's far from where my true passion lies. I'm already formulating what my second career might be...

With three kids under 8, that might still be a while off, but I'm committed to doing what I can now to prepare myself for when I can take that step, and find outlets to be creative, if it can't be here at work at the time being. Also, we've been aggressive with our debts to this point, and I can thankfully say we have none but our mortgage and healthy savings, both long term and liquid. Nothing like a pile of debt to keep you languishing in a unhappy, unhealthy job situation for too long...

All the best with finding your path!
