I would stick with the GP unless you need to make all that cheddar. Otherwise you are just the next heart surgeon who did it to pay your student loans. My brother is in GP and will likely remain there for his career because of a shortage in the field. He did grow up in a line of podiatrists too

In Japan, especially, there is a greater cultural emphasis on teachers as co-parents. We take the blame for a lot, but we also get a lot of the credit. I was told by my section supervisor (head English teacher), that parents had called about my teaching (I'm new to this school, only a few months so far), and they're happy. The kids are going home and raving about my lessons. And that's why I do the job. You sure as hell don't teach for the money; you're right. It's a public service. I've been at it for six years, and I've actually seen my salary drop by $600/mo. Luckily, Gawker paychecks are helping make up the difference.

While I definitely focused on the creative side of things in college (and still consider myself a creative), I landed as an account executive but for an internal department at our agency that works closely with the auto retail division. Long story short, I do a little bit of everything. From working with clients directly to writing TV spots to designing and maintaining various assets for micro sites, web banners, and more. Big picture wise, I hope to end up in a more creative role, and definitely working on more branding-related projects (automotive or otherwise) - as that's where I truly feel at home.
