Like any rational person I FB stalked him. There were two guys listed with his name. One from Wisconsin and the other had this as his header picture... I got stuck with the one from Wisconsin :( So close!

My first roommate sucked. He was a prick. So I had enough of his prick ways, so I decided to be a prick back. An eye for an eye makes the whole world a better place.

That's too bad. My first college roommate was an "interesting" guy. We had big fun, but that guy was a terrible human being to people other than his guy friends. Ended up getting a girl pregnant that year. Surprisingly, not a bad dad. At least not in college. The last I heard he was selling cars in Vegas.

It is like a 15 minute walk to campus. It sucks, but on the plus side you get air conditioning. I was in Wiley first year, 5 minute walk to campus but not air conditioning, summer was a real pain.

Maybe you'll get lucky. I had a great roommate, he stood up at my wedding, and we're still good friends 25 years later.

That sucks. Most schools in VA let you do that. Anyways goodluck with the guy! Hopefully he isn't a total douche.

had a three person room my first semester, the one kid was from some central Ohio backwater. He quietly protested our "alcoholic pursuits" by collecting a pile of empty pepsi cans in a fishing net hanging above his bunk.
he left us by Christmas break.
Second year, different school, one of the four guys was a Korean kid that we only saw at night, not that regularly, and especially not on the weekends. I actually only saw him ONCE the whole semester. My other two goofball roommates had just as few sightings.
all his gear was neatly packaged in his bunk below me that he had hung blankets around to create a little fortress.
i recall one night, while laying some serious pipe with a young lady in my bunk, hearing an interesting crashing noise from below us. The next morning I peeked in to see his collection of about 100 cassette tapes and boombox (yes this was the '80s) had fallen off of whatever he had them perched on had fallen on his bed and the floor.
Again he was gone the next semester. not to be replaced which was convenient because i had to swap mattresses after another particularly fantastic chick peed my bed.

Then things have changed. I graduated from JMU in '89, and we had no choice, at least the first year. Unless you had a friend you wanted to bunk with going in.

No, he just wouldn't talk to me. I would try and he would blatantly ignore me. Then he would walk into the room and decide "You know what, everyone wants to hear my music" he also didn't share anything. Turns out though, that lots of people don't like him! I haven't had anyone like that though.

What a jerk
My roommate was a fun guy and nice to talk to, when he was sober. But then he'd get high and do dumb things. Sometimes it was pretty funny though
Luckily he never got me in trouble or stole anything worth much. Usually just food or stuff like that.

I never really had a fun roommate. I am not the roommate type of person. I am actually really quiet, hate sharing personal info with people, and rarely ever talk to new people. So having to live with someone is just not my cup of tea.

that's even better!
not sharing a room is best
and not sharing the apartment or house with anyone is best too
but make sure to get married before you get to be my age. i'm 35 and have had no housemates since 30 and now i'm set in my ways. i dunno if i can handle getting married and having someone tell me what to do, haha

one of my neighbors actually just finished up his orientation at JMU and he told me he's excited to be bunking with his best friend. My brother goes to GMU and although he commutes to school (lives <10 minutes away) apparently his friends also got to pick. Same with my sister at VCU. She got to pick her roomie.

me too
i've gotten somewhat good at talking to them enough to date
but it usually doesn't get to the committed girlfriend stage
they don't understand why i spend all my money on cars...
and some of them get jealous of the cars
it's all very depressing. i was talking to an investment banker the other day. he makes craploads of money but his wife still controls him. he is not allowed to have more than one car at a time. now he does have a very nice car (Ferrari 599 6MT, one of 33 in the US). but that's still lame that he's not allowed to have a second car...

I never understood why people complain about people spending money on cars. If you have the money to do it, why not? Are you failing to meet bills, are your kids starving? No, no? Then what's the big deal? Hopefully I find a woman who understands my need for a racecar! If not, then we are gonna have a problem.
I haven't talked to any girl about this, but all my guy friends don't seem to think I am stupid. They do think I should buy better food and clothes though. . . but I want my wheels and tires dammit!!

nobody understands us!
i don't spend money on clothes. or furniture. my house is barren
i have a nice house and a few cars i like. and i'm not a jerk. so that should be good enough. i should be allowed to spend my own money on cars and to talk about them and drive them.

Same here. I have one laptop for 3 years, that won't hold a charge, but I don't really want to buy a new one, while my friend has 2 thousand dollar laptops. Different people, different strokes.
It sucks that people assume a lot about a person based on their car. Just cause I own an FRS doesn't make me an idiot 20-some year old, who doesn't know about cars! Maybe, I can lure a girl in with my car. I am in college so there are a lot of women my age around me! I GOTTA TRY!

You gotta meet a girl with an FRS or BRZ. There has to be at least a couple dozen of them at your school. Surely at least a couple of them are cool. And you'll have a shared interest!

There was an Asian girl who drove a WRB BRZ, it is a match made in heaven really. She waved and I waved, we had a moment of connection. . . not really though. Most of the other BRZ/FRS are driven by dudes though. Some of them not so smart. My friend owns one too, it is awesome!

Ahh, but your car runs and has a hand brake. You can do all the power slides. Nothing turns on a girl more than a power slide... Or so I've been told.
When I want to go on a date I ask a girl if they want to learn to longboard. You just need to ask if they want to learn to drive stick or something.
