In in recent interview with !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Mike Manley had some very interesting things to say about the 2017 wrangler. Did I say interesting? I meant horrifying.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I'm hoping this is just talking about efficiencies and technology and not about core attributes. I get scared when car designers say things like "One thing that we will not do is dilute what Wrangler stands for,"
No Mike, one thing you will not do crap on a loyal and profitable market of ~15,000 units a month...don't do that by chasing targets that you ought not to chase.

Just sell a stripped out two-seater with the multi-air 4 and a manual transmission. Call it the Bantam and boom, mission accomplished.

Okay so when the Mustang went IRS people complained that it would add weight, and this article states that Jeeps solid axles add weight. lol

And make the doors not be all metal, the charm of older jeeps like mine was the removable at any time window section. New ones have to have the whole damn door off and it just isn't as convenient. My old windows just slid up and off, and into the back they went, for windowless awesome with the top up or down.
