Today huge hail mowed down my home city of Sofia, Bulgaria. My neighbourhood was the only one spared in the whole city and I think I am going to go play the lottery. One dead some injuried, trees on top of cars with people in them. My facebook wall is pretty sorry picture when it comes to cars.

It's obviously a very smart license plate that knows the city of Baaahston is worthless and their baseball team should be ridiculed.

Boo Sohx!

The blue line on the left has the EU stars and then a letter country code, in the past the flag of the given member state. The first letter is from the city that issued the plate and then everything is random. Of course every member state has its variants and they don't all look absolutely the same.

So the B is for Bulgaria...and then the H is from your city?

No, you can maybe see that in the blue line in the bottom there is BG which means Bulgaria. The B is for the city which issued the plate and because of transliteration actually stands for V for the city of Varna(Cyrillic to English). Everything else is random or not if you pay some fees.

We were supposed to get hail where I live last night. Which is odd cuz it usually hitch north west of here. I was actually hoping my car would get totaled.

On the BMW you can see clear the BG code. In this case the CA stands for Sofia for some stupid reasons and than everything is random numbers and two additional letters.

I just don't wand to think what will be paid for the Brabus. Once I saw and invoice for some parts for a current Alpina B7 and only a bumper, grille and one headlamp was over 10k Euro.

I saw the BG code there. That;s cool. Here (canada) we just do it by sub national jurisdiction (province or territory).

That looks like some pretty apocalyptic shit.

We had a similar storm in 2009 (two countries away from you), and my story was pretty similar. My car was untouched in the suburbs, but my friend's Peugeot got "shot" to pieces in the city centre only a couple of kilometres away.

Over here (Netherlands) it has nothing to do with town/county/location. Just '2 numbers - 2 letters - 2 letters', or a mixup of that order depending on when the car was registered and the plate handed out. Recently they switched to '2 numbers - 3 letters - 1 number', because they ran out.

Please note this is not standard for Euro plates. :) Well, the blue bit on the left is, the rest varies from country to country.

Slovenian plates are like this, I rather like the Coats of arms:

Kinja'd!!!

Top to bottom:

Police, Diplomatic, Regular, Tractor, Regular. Last three have city prefixes.

The coat of arms can vary within the city plates, as they also cover the surrounding areas. We have 9 city prefixes and... I dunno 120ish municipalities with coats of arms. Don't think they all get their own plates, though.
