As someone who drives a smart fortwo: YES.

The extra meat completely changes the driving dynamics at any speed. Whereas my smart as stock would understeer at any hint of aggressive driving, the wide tyres not only completely eliminate that, but introduce some oversteer at the newest extreme limits. It really is like an insane go-kart now.
