I need advice
(not me or my ride)
Im looking for some good advice on camping along the coast. I would like to camp as much on the sand/beach as possible but im open to wooded areas as well. I will be pulling a camp trailer but I have the cruiser and will have recovery gear and extra fuel. Anyone in the area have some advice or good places to start looking?

I just went to Nehalem, near Manzanita. Nice beach, but a ton of people. The best coast camping in the PNW is along the Olympic Peninsula and in the San Juan Islands in Washington, but I'm biased...

In that case, if you can handle the drive, go to Lake Ozette on the Olympic Peninsula. The site is off a gravel road which cuts down on the number of campers. From the campsite you have access to a 3 mile boardwalk to the beach which runs for about 27-28 miles to the south with no inhabitants. In my opinion this stretch of coast is some of the most beautiful in the world. It includes massive rock formations, pebble and sand beaches, old growth timber that grows right up to the edge of the beach, plenty of wildlife, etc. There are also a few hike-in sites right on the beach, talk to the Rangers at Lake Ozette about that (if you go in the summer, they will issue you a bear box). If you go this route, keep in mind that there really aren't any services out there aside from a very small general store near the drive in camp site.
