And no note.
I managed to pop it out, but there's a noticeable crease left. So frustrated... besides rock chips, this is the first body damage to my car. Ugh.

They sure can be. In order to sustain my faith in humanity, I'm telling myself it was some older person and they failed to realize what they'd done...

SOME FUCKIN PEOPLE! The Person that did it was probly on the phone not looking around them and didn't even notice that they hit something. Shortly after I bought my second car some one put a HUGE dent in my pass side rear quarter panel. I popped the trunk and banged it out, but then all the paint on the body line started chipping off. Thankfully I found a sweet sticker to cover it

Girlfriends car had a similar dent and after I popped it out there was a crease too. The crease seemed to go away after a month or so!

I am lucky in that my rear bumper has sun damage and the clear coat is frosted & peeling, so I'm not too worried about damage to it. That sucks for you though, at least the paint wasn't marred.

What an asshole. I saw someone reverse their CRVs tow hitch into the grill of a nice Audi A5. I walked over and pointed it out to them since they didn't seem to notice. They locked their doors thinking I was being aggressive (I wasn't) then waited a while. They got out eventually and wandered off. I walked back by a half hour later and they were gone and no note on the Audi. Assholes...

I'm sorry brother. I do actually know how you feel; my father "took care" of my Disco while I was in the South Pacific for about 2 years, Mind you, he is a cop and a good neighbor, someone hit my truck in the front left bumper and left. Until recently, she had an upturned front lip. I removed the plastic bumper to find the whole thing shattered and broken underneath, so now it's rolling without a bumper guard.

Yeah, the surface is good. The fold at the bottom left a faint crease and my zeal to pop it out left a couple more (internal). She's definitely a driver, no garage queen, but it still hurts my soul.

Yep. #1 rule of owning a nice car: subject it to the public long enough and some absolute asshole WILL ruin it for you. Aren't you glad you spent all that time with the clay bar, tar remover, polish, wax, etc on that back bumper? I wish you had posted this before popping it back out though - the best procedure for that is to heat the shit out of the plastic (evenly, of course) before pushing it. If the paint isn't cracked from the initial hit, it generally doesn't crack when pushed back out if the bumper is hot enough. ...but maybe you already knew this? You're a sharp dude =)
I'm so sorry to see this, but I know how it feels more than most people. My E90 has been lucky so far (knock on wood) but my 335 was hit 4 times while parked.

They probably forgot about it as soon as they pulled out of the parking lot and knew they weren't caught.
Any chance there is security camera footage near where you were parked?
