A Turkish F-16 gave spectators a story to tell their grandkids after it sent them scattering as it performed an extremely low approach and landing after its routine during the RAF Waddington airshow in the U.K.

Apparently the threshold of the runway is very close the road requiring such a low approach. Most likely, though, the pilot was hoping to give the crowd a show they won't soon forget.

After consulting the Googles, I've found that and F-16's average stopping distance is around 2,700 feet and the runway length at Waddington is 7,800 feet, giving this particular aircraft ample room to perform a normal approach and landing.

This pilot might not have the best decision making skills, but he certainly gets high marks for putting on a good show.

Waddington is known for its low approach. I think the pilots enjoy buzzing the crowd.

Looks like fun. Either in the crowd or as the pilot.
