Has anyone here built a complete engine? I'm not talking crate motor, rebuild, etc. I'm talking about machining the block and from there.

I understand the amount of work, detail, and experience required. I just want to know someone that has done it. I'd love to see if I could basically reverse engineer a flat-12 down to maybe .75 scale. Something that would fit in a smaller vehicle. Not micro, just not hugenormous.

That is all.

So you want to be a rock'n'roll star.

Then listen now to what I say

Just get an electric guitar.

And take some time and learn how to play.

And when your hair's combed right and your pants fit tight.

It's gonna be all right

Doesn't matter if you don't know how to play the guitar, just make sure it feels good in your hands. Soon you'll be a Jukebox Hero.

Just watch these for the manufacturing part of it.

The fluid mechanics makes things a bit tricky as they don't necessarily scale down as nicely.

Oh. Here I thought having watched this, I knew everything about building an engine.

I used to work in an engine machine shop but that was just doing remachining/repairs and then rebuilding them.

You're gonna be hardpressed to find someone that's designed and machined engines from scratch. But good luck! Also, I'm sure you've seen this by now.

One of the older guys a quarter ahead of me, when I was going to school for machining, had made a small 350 from scratch. I think the only reason it didn't run was that he hadn't been able to find plugs small enough, or something of that nature.
