Hello, all!

I need your help. I have started a spreadsheet containing the location (City & State), date, physical address, etc. of every cars and coffee event that us oppos go to on a monthly/weekly/etc. basis. This way it’s easier for people to get involved and know where to go and when to participate. Also, even though I live in Raleigh, I may want to check out another local one sometime. This would make it easier to do so.

Feel free to add/change stuff if you think improvements can be made. Here is the link just in case you guys want to add your own:

Great idea. I think this should be taken a step further though. There should be (and I'm surprised there isn't already) a sub blog for 'cars and coffee'. It could include all automotive related gatherings in addition to cars and coffee. Anyone???

I've now learned of a few more in the area, good work. That being said, if you ever get a wild hair and decide to run out to Fayetteville or Winston-Salem, I'm possibly down. I usually try to hit Charlotte, but haven't been since April due to schedules.

Also, I felt guilty using this for a personal post, so I added the Indy info. They usually have a good turnout.

Your post talks about Cars & Coffee, so I'll allow it. I actually found the rest of the NC ones linked from the C&C Greensboro facebook page. I've only been to the Cary (now dead) and the new Raleigh one. How is the turnout in Charlotte? I may try to go to Greensboro this month, haven't decided yet. I've heard it's real good.

I went to Cary once, then it was cancelled. I actually have been to Charlotte 3 or 4 times, I know some Vette guys over that way, so I try to make an effort...usually a good crowd. Shoot me an email, MatthewSHayes@gmail, we can take it offline to keep from muddying your post. I'm right on 40, so I would definitely be interested in Greensboro, I missed that one when reading the other NC events.

I've not been to Indy, but I follow them online. I was going to try and run over when I was home (an hour from Indy) back in May for Indycar races, but never pulled it together.

can't add on mobile, but the only one I know of near me is the Cruise Night at the Bass Pro Shop at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro MA. Every other Thursday night starting at 4pm. The next one is the tenth.

Thanks, bud. The wife and I actually tried to go this Saturday, but we overslept a bit (8:30ish) and decided to have a nice breakfast at home and didn't get out of the house until a quarter to 11 when the event was ending. We will try again next week.

No problem, man. That's fine, a chill breakfast is always good too. It's nice to have a local C&C that is weekly. Ours is monthly, so if I miss it, I have to wait another month. I may start going to other ones a little farther away on the weeks inbetween.

It's Monthly, but the last one was scheduled the day before it happened. They need to work on communication and organization, but they just started in March (technically December). I know last December they held their first meet and had 400+ cars show up. They didn't do anything for the Winter and then started back up in March.

Like the others have said, you should start a sub-blog. And every Monday just post an updated list.

There may not be too many posts going on in the sub-blog, but it would/could organize any and all Cars and Coffee related posts to it. Plus, you can always link it here on Oppo to promote it. That way, trying to find C&C stuff would be easier to navigate.

Its a thought though.

Those are the only NJ ones that occur regularly. Is this a google labs thing for the map? If so, could you link me? I want to expand the calendar I've done for cruise nights.

I'm not sure what Google labs are, so I'm not sure. I just created a custom map through google maps. I was only trying to get the days/locations of actual cars and coffee events, or at least monthly events. I am not including one time only or yearly car shows. Basically open car meets with a regular frequency.

gotcha. Google labs would let you create a spreadsheet that would auto update the information on the map. I'll poke around, or just make one myself. I'll link you either a labs thing, or let you know the formulas once I get it working.

I actually haven't looked it it thoroughly yet, but I can if it'll help. Give me a bit to look over it.

And a new gmail account may be a good idea, to keep the blog emails and personal emails separated. Plus, if you're unable to keep up with C&C, you can easily pass the torch by giving them the login credentials for the separate email address.

Actually, I don't think it's that bad. I think these instructions are how to create a group blog and merge it with your existing, so that one account controls both blogs. Clearly if I create another gmail account, I can use that to create a new kinja, but I'll have to log in and out of the group blog and my personal blog constantly. I'll be off work in about an hour. I may take a shot at it then.

Yeah I noticed that too. I think the safest route (technically), would be to create a new gmail account and a twitter account, then merge them together. Then you can add yourself as a author/mod later on, just in case something 'weird' goes on while combining the two accounts. I like to play it safe, just in case....

My thoughts were that it would just be for Cars & Coffee or other shows that are held at least once a month. If we started adding shows that were one time only, or annual, the list would probably get very long. I think someone else started one for non-cars & coffee events. I'll see if I can find the post.

There’s a Cars & Coffee in Annapolis, MD at the City dock every Sunday @ 9am. 160 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis MD 21401.

There’s supposedly a Cars and Coffee Saturdays at 8am at the defunct Marlboro Raceway, but I can’t confirm if they’ve started it back up. 6000 Crain Highway, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
