Beginning tomorrow and continuing thru 2015, Haas Automation partners with Scuderia Ferrari. They will have their name slapped on the sidepods until they start racing their own stuff in 2016. Gene Haas is determined to spread sales of his products across the rest of the world. Partnering with Ferrari would seem like a great place to start. Read on Autoweek.

I still don't know how I feel about them being the Ferrari junior team.

Sorta like saying "They would win every race if they weren't running Norton to slow them down".

Tough sport to start off in. Gene ain't stupid. Winner or not, Ferrari is a worldwide recognized name.

Absolutely. The ultimate goal is worldwide recogniztion for the Haas brand so in those terms it's a smart move. Also you'd hope this will help move the team from backmarker to mid-pack runner sooner than later. Finishing in the top-10 constructor standings and receiving that payday at the end of the season is crucial for smaller teams.
