Because I'm probably clinically insane.
#1 Dodge Avenger V6
#2 Malibu SS
#3 Jeep Patriot
#4 Dodge Nitro w/ 4.0L V6
#5 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
#6 Hummer H3
#7 Saturn Vue Redline
#8 Chevy Spark
#9 Dodge Journey V6
#10 Monte Carlo SS
Now if you excuse me, I'll be hiding from most of you.

My favorite of these is the Avenger. I have a buddy who has one. He loves it. I like it better than the charger
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:30 |

I really like the Avenger.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:30 |

Nope.
Maybe an H3, if it were an Alpha. Or if it were a 3.5 with the 6 speed.

Call me crazy, but the Malibu Maxx SS is kinda cool for me. Not sure why the Maxx specifically, but I kinda like it.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:35 |

I was gonna say the Maxx, but the way the back window comes down just short of flush with the back of the car bugs me.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:37 |

Well, the Monte Carlo SS has literally a small block V8 horizontally mounted. Chevy Spark needs massive turbo. Saturn Red line. Basically a sleeper with an awful badge. Hummer H3- moar masculine Tahoe. Mitsu Outlander: somewhat fit a Evo engine in there-perfect . The Patriot....matte red wrap. The nitro should become a drag monster. Malibu SS and Dodge avenger needs snails
(edit-oh yeah the monte carlo is sadly being decimated by donk loving individuals)
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:37 |

I actually like the Maxx as well.

So much agree with you! Haha, I think the Avenger would be a stretch, but I wouldn't mind a 200S with the V6. That Eminem ad was something else, and damn did it make me want one. I wouldn't like the Chevys though, but the Vue is cool. I also think the R/T Nitro with the 4.0 has got some attitude I like. Spark, totally would drive one. And, my father and I are trying to get my mother into a Journey R/T instead of a minivan when we sel the Expedition EL.

The H3 is a shame. The H1 was an incredibly capable off-load vehicle that had no practical civilian application. The H2 was a rapper's idea of luxury. It was ridiculous. The H3 may walk and talk like the H2's little brother, but in reality, it is an extremely capable off-road vehicle, and from what I understand, not to terrible on-road. It's a true sports utility vehicle. If only they'd called it the Chevy Blazer, and made a 2-door version.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:38 |

If its the Avenger V6 please be the 3.5 haha
And the Monte SS, which model? The 5.3 Liter or the SC model?
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:39 |

I think we can get together and agree that the Spark is a cool little car. A car FOR enthusiast dare I say it. Also Dodge Journey's and those Monte Carlos are the only ones on this list That I would not know. I wouldn't Buy any but the Spark.

Save the Monte Carlos!
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:39 |

I like it. It's a notchback. It reminds me of this , ironically.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:40 |

SS or not NO. I have driving a Monte of this gen, and an Impala SS of the same gen. The SS Impala wasn't fun enough to make up for the cheap interior, or the beige looks one the outside, and the Monta commits the sin of being a HUGE car with only two doors.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:41 |
|
The 200S is nice, but what about the SuperS or whatever it was called? I'd rock on of those.
What, no Malibu SS love? Or Monte!? FWD V8s do nothing for you!?
PLEASE ANYTHING BUT A MINIVAN.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:43 |
|
Avenger would be a 2011+ with the better interior and 3.6 Pentastar.
5.3L V8 on the Monte, I love the 3800 S/C, but that V8 grumble is too much to resist.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:44 |

...You drive a minivan. They are extremely practical.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:44 |

I kinda see it. And it had these two little glass panels above the rear seat that were kinda cool.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:44 |
|
Which one?
*EDIT: Oh dis. I didn't know that. It's just like the Flex. Cool
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:47 |
|
The Bently Conti GT is of the same sin, I don't see people complaining.
5.3 liters of FWD V8 is too much for me to ignore. Plus I like how they look.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:48 |
|
Not by my own choice though. Plus mine's at least RWD.
CUVs are just as practical. Minus the whole no slidey door bit.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:49 |
|
It'd be really cool if the whole roof was glass.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:51 |
|
It's true. You're talking to someone with two parents who hate minivans so much that they bought anti-minivans almost out of spite.
Also, did someone say RWD minivan?
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:53 |
|
Oh can I add this
I would drive a Prius V. Yeah I said it. It couldn't be my only car, I'd have to have something fun, impractical, and unreliable in the garage to balance things out, But I would daily a Prius V. The Prius C Looks pretty cool too.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:54 |
|
When my parents bought the Van in '98, CUVs were of slim pickings. They always said if there was something like the Acadia out when they bought the van, that's what they would've bought instead. I mean yeah, they could've bought an SUV, but they wanted something decently efficient.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:55 |

I'd totally rock a Prius C.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:55 |

Dustbuster?
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:56 |

Still a minivan. An ugly one at that. God I dislike those things.
![]() 07/02/2014 at 23:56 |
|
I guess the big two door car is just a personal problem. To me it's just silly. If car is gonna be big it should be equally useful. And I just can't get over how bad the interiors are. ANd even tho that Impala SS had a Huge engine it didn't feel fast.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:00 |
|
I thought of an other one. When I first stated selling cars we had one in our used lot. I took it for "test drives" quite often. Man was it fun. and it's a hatchback with great rear legroom. I'd drive one for sure.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:01 |

They actually look cool, and they come in some great colors.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:01 |

Yup. Me wants. The only Caliber I would own.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:01 |
|
They're like Pacers: so ugly they're cool. Also, you should look at a 1997-98 Mazda MPV 4x4. It's half SUV, half minivan, way more comfortable than it has any right to be, and huge inside. I actually do want one, for some reason.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:03 |

S Special. And yes they car cool. My dealership had a 13.5 S Special and I really liked it.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:06 |

There had to be one of those on a lot somewhere they looked. Damn, those things never seemed half bad.
I dunno if they were strictly looking at used or not though. Probably, this being a "Oh god we have a baby due in a month and we just bought a Saturn SC2 not too long ago that the car seat doesn't fit in, we need something quickly and somewhat cheaply."
Mind you, our driveway consisted of a coupe and a single cab truck, they weren't prepared for a kid at all car-wise.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:07 |

It's probly the only high pressure(more than 10psi) turbo car I've ever driven(aside from VW TDIs) and Ir was such a blast. It felt stupid fast, whether it was or wasn't doesn't matter.

That LED eyebrow...
Yeah, Im not much of a Chevy guy, but I respect the love.
My mom is ADAMANT on the minivan. But my father said to me he isn't dropping $35k on a vehicle who's only real purpose is roadtrips twice a year. My sister is going to collage, so its only me and my smaller brother. She wants to make this road trip to key west, and just wont get over the "necessity" of the minivan. My father dislikes minivans, and says "Im too lazy to drive such a fatass vehicle." He has always liked the Journey a lot, and there is a 2014 R/T just like this one we saw today as CPO. He is really really convinced by it, and Im just watching reviews and exhaust videos of the Pentastar to get in tune.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:14 |

My Mom got a rental one and loved it. Granted she drives a rebadged Corolla with a "stiffened" chassis and steel rods as shocks.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:14 |
|
They used to be horrible, but now they're good little trucklets.
My mom sat in a '14 at the St. Louis auto show for a good half and hour, even had someone on the floor talking her through it. She wouldn't mind one in place of the Vue.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:15 |

I was as much suggesting the MPV as a car you would like now as a car for your parents 16 years ago.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:18 |

Nuh-uh, I'm not getting something like that again until I have kids of my own. Nooo thank you.
90-something BMW is what it's getting replaced with. Not another goddamn van.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:19 |
|
Im seriously liking it. The black headlights make ALL the difference. I just want to put the Blacktop bits and keep it for myself!
Haha the Vue is pretty much part of the family tree now,
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:25 |
|
You'll like a 90's BMW. My suggestion? If you can find one cheap enough in good condition, go for an E39, preferably a 528i. The chassis on those cars are phenomenal, and the engine makes you feel all happy inside.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:26 |
|
Blacktop Journey is what all men want all CUVs to be.
It is, pretty much all three of the cars we own right now are. My parents have owned these three cars longer than any others.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:27 |
|
If I could find an E39 cheap enough, I'd love one. I did find a black E34 that I really like though, for the right price even.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:28 |

What about the Axiom. That thing drives just as well as a BMW.
No I was lying.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:30 |

I would HIGHLY recommend a good, long look at the Mazda CX-7, the Toyota Venza, the Chevy Equinox/GMC Terrain, the Ford Edge, etc. Depending on which of these cars you guys get down there.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:31 |

Oh lord, that would be the shock of the century if actually true. But we all know it isn't so..
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:32 |

Haha, it is the manliest of them. And I love t for that.
Cars here go about 5 or 6 years down the line, how is it in your household?
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:32 |

It does move under its own power, and turn both left and right. These are things which a BMW also does.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:34 |

We've had the Safari 16, the Silverado 10, and the Vue 6. The only one of the three that is leaving any time soon is the Safari.

I mean, it might as well be.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 00:59 |

hey hey hey, i love the h3 and we almost bought one, but it's no Tahoe. Its built on a smaller platform.
Its EPIC with V8 and in truck format

the patriots actually not bad if you dont think of its as an suv

They always make me think of Original Star Trek Shuttles

I tried to keep an open mind while looking at these, but in the end I cannot. I would rather walk barefoot in Detroit than pay a loan for one of these cars.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 11:05 |

So pretty much the Safari has been in the Household as much as I

I believe you refer to the CX-9, and all your options are very good. Issue is I dont know if my mom will want anything but a minivan, and that is what my father and I are trying to stop. The Journey has always been high on the list since it isn't too big, has a powerful V6, and 3 rows of seats. Also, my mom thinks anything but a minivan will be stolen if we take it to the Mexican highways. There have been countless stories of people taking their CR-Vs and Tahoes and having them taken by blockade of drug dealers. Thankfully it has never happened to us, but my mother is always in fear. Ill write what happens in the end.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 12:25 |

Interesting. I guess that isn't something I thought of.
And no, I did mean the Mazda CX-7. Did you guys get those down there?
![]() 07/03/2014 at 15:20 |

1) Ew
2) Gross
3) Sigh
4) Meh
5) Hm
6) Not bad, pretty cool.
7) Are you a 50 yr old woman?
8) Ick
9) Bleh
10) Yeah this list is terrible.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 17:56 |
|
Oh yes, the CX-7 that is now discontinued, and we have the great selling CX-5
![]() 07/03/2014 at 17:57 |

Yeah, I knew that, but the CX-7 is bigger. CX-9 might also work.
![]() 07/03/2014 at 22:06 |

The New CX-9 is pretty cool, I like the Kodo on it.

I like the previous gen Monte SS with the supercharged 3800. I had a '98 Riviera with that setup, lots of modding potential. Got it into the high 13s as a daily driver with a mild cam, later gen supercharger swap and my own tuning. Never was a big fan of the 5.3.
