I am thinking about getting the Potenza RE760 Sport for the S2k. Anyone here have experience with them?
The certainly look rather sporting, but looks aren't everything.

I have RE970 Pole Positions on the Dart and I had them on the Focus as well. Both sets did me right. On the Focus, whenever I had it up on a lift and I'd look at the tires, it looks like they ate a shit ton of nails and just spit them out like they were nothing. As far as handling, they transformed both my cars in that department. I don't have any experience with other Potenzas though, but if they're anything like the Pole Positions I highly recommend them.

they look the same as the old Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001's that were on my old MR2, they were fantastic. They took little while to warm up properly though, but were still fine in the cold 4-6 degree Celsius winter we get here.
Tyre pattern is identical but who knows if the compound is the same.
I'd get them or the RE002's for my current MR2 but they don't make them in a size to fit the factory wheels I have.

The OE tires were Potenzas, and they were not that great. I did always love my Bridgestones while on my bike, but totally different world. I can go with straight summer tires now that I have a second car, so I might just give these a try.

I doubt they used the same compound, but it wouldn't surprise me if they left the tread pattern the same.

From what I understand, they're...pretty good. But unless you're overly concerned with tread life I would go for something more aggressive, in Tire Rack's max performance or extreme performance categories. So like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Bridgestone S-04 are "max" tires, and BFG Rival, Bridgestone RE-11, Dunlop Z-II, Hankook RS-3 are "extreme" tires.
Relative to the "extreme" tires, the "max" tires will have more tread life, a softer ride, and less noise. But still a lot of grip.
I will say though, on an S2k I'd consider those "extreme" tires. Back when I had my Miata I ran Hankook RS-2s on it (which have been replaced by the RS-3) and those tires on that car were just ridiculously good handling.

I thought about it, but I like to drive the car to much, and I will still take it out on longer trips as well as *gasp!* take it out in the rain on occasion. I still think it would be fun to grab a set of steely/Blizzaks and hoon away in the snow, just to confuse people.

I've had experience with the RE760 and an AP2, but not together. Nothing to complain about with the tires but I wasn't that abusive to them (i.e. no track usage).

Well then I'd go with a "max performance" tire. I've had good results (including wet traction) with multiple tires in this category. Right now the best available is Michelin Pilot Super Sport, otherwise Bridgestone S-04 is very close and somewhat cheaper.

I had potenzas and didn't like them too much. The cheapest sportiest tires that is liked the most are the set of Sumitomos I had put on my WRX. They were around $90 a tire and were very good for the price.

My dad has those tires on his 07 impreza wagon. He LOVES those tires, and after driving the car a few times myself i can say his love for them is justified. Sticky enough for spirited driving, goodles in the rain and they last for quite a while. Personally I would definitely recommend them.
