I drove a brand new SHO over the weekend

It was supercharged, did 0-60 in 5 terrifyingly short seconds, revved to 8,000rpm. It made 40 more hp than my Trans Am did from the factory and has the same fuel capacity as my blazer but for some reason it maxed out at only 75...

I got to drive a family friends brand new (5 hours on clock) Yamaha SHO waver runner. I'd never driven a jet ski before, it was amazing and terrifying. Starting on something like this has got to be like starting a new driver off in a Ferrari. No matter how fast you were going, you could hit the throttle and the thing would pull like a rocket, it felt like you were always in the torque band (I think that's the term?). It had the same feeling when you punched it the 600hp supercharged Camaro I drove had. One second you could be stationary, under 10 seconds later you could be going 75, going that fast on the water is terrifying. I liked 35mph, that was a nice speed. You do not need 215 supercharged horses in a jet ski.

Fun bonus info: while on the water I drove the track layouts of the Goodwood hill climb, Monza, and Monaco. Is it sad I have the layout ingrained in my head from gt6?

That's why it's scary, there is no safety equipment. I went tubing behind it. I flew off at 30mph and basically skipped across the water like a skipping stone. I had enough time in the spin to move into a fetal position.

Nope

No fun at all

I got tossed off one going close to 60. The water, oh gof the water was like fucking concrete for what felt like fifteen seconds

Ouch! I can't even imagine how your body looked after that. I was a diver so I'm use to hitting the water hard, but i didn't really expect small bruising from tumbling like I did.

JetSkis are scary fun. I don't like them that much, but you just have to try one someday. It is too much power for what I would think reasonable!

The power to weight ratio on this thing was insane.

No. You're right. 350 hp is more my style. 85MPH or bust.

(FYI My dream boat is a twin turbo 445 jet drive in an 18' hull)

It was like I walked through a car-wash naked. One of them ones with the high speed rotating spinny clothy pillar things

The most powerful Jet Ski I've ridden was a modified single seater Sea Doo from around 2005. It was also supercharged, and made 150-ish horsepower. I got it up to 55 on rough water, which was a blast! it tops out at 65-ish, but that's too fast for me! I'll probably buy a jet ski in the near future though

I really want to buy an old speedboat and throw a Pontiac or Buick 455 in the back with zoomie headers popping out the top.

Got bounced at 45 once...it was a strange feeling. The water felt hard even as I sank into it. It hurt like hell although it was fine after only a few minutes.
