I'm sorry for coming off as a spoilt brat.
I'm sorry for acting a bit immature.
I'm sorry for sounding daft and stupid.
I'm sorry for whining.
I'm sorry for not being educated.
I have no one to blame but myself, and myself alone. I guess I've got more problems then I thought and I've got some thinking I've got to do and I guess I'm gonna go for a drive to clear it up. I don't know how long of a drive or if I'll be back here in a while, but I guess I just need to go do something. I guess I'll be back whenever, once the rage and hate goes away and I figure something out.
I probably won't be forgiven for what I said, but again, I'm truly sorry.

He surrounded by all the stuff he wants and can't get, wanted to get a 944 and apparently got some crap for that when posting about it here.

Is this about the loan post? Maybe its just me, maybe I'm spoiled too. But you didn't come off as spoiled to me? Your paying for your own car just need help being able to do that. And your still young, your not supposed to know everything. Keep your head up brother.

Don't worry about it. We all very frustrated over first world problems once in a while. You seem to at least make more sense than most people your age...

I read that post, and don't think he deserved it. What is this place if we can't ask questions like that? I don't like how some people responded, although when I skimmed briefly it didn't seem like anyone was too hard on him either.

Don't worry about it. I guess I'm what a lot of people would consider a spoiled kid, but there are still things I want that I can't have. The only thing is to remember to be thankful for what you do have, and if you work hard, hopefully the things you lust after will come down the road. And don't be worried about any of us on here "never forgiving you" for something you said. We may be just usernames on here, but we know what its like to have emotions too.

For the record, you made my blood boil because you don't see how enviable of a position you are in. I apologize for saying you have everything paid for if you pay for your own car (and new cars aren't cheap) but still, you live a VERY good life for someone your age. What we were trying to tell you is that your plan wasn't right. At all. A lot of us know people with failed projects and a lot of us have had a failure in our lives. But you were trying to justify an outright bad idea.
If you want to know how you *should* do this, then here's your free life advice as apologies for previous assumptions
1) Budget out X$ savings every week
2) Put savings in an account or something dedicated ONLY for your new project
3) Plan on spending an additional 25-50% of the intiial purchase of the car on repairs and upgrades.
4) Set your budget when shopping. You can do things like "I'll pay up to 4500 if it's red but I won't pay more then 3500 for any other color" or "I won't pay more than 2000$ if it runs rough"
5) THEN you go and jump on the car you want.
Here's why the loan was a bad idea - you had no idea what you were going to spend in the long run so you were going to go into debt for a car that might not be driveable for long. It looked good, yes, but it's still a 30 year old car. There are NO guarantees. So you were going to shell out for two car payments as well as take additional funds out of your paychecks for a project car's upkeep and any upgrades for your FoST. Now you can sorta see that you're building a house of cards in that scenario. Lose your job and all the sudden you're in a lot more debt than before. That used car loan will also be high interest, even with good credit. Maybe 10-15%. That's not good. ANd it doesn't even build credit unless you have it for more than a year.
There's the long-winded explanation to avoid mistakes I made or people I know made. Don't make THOSE mistakes. Make new ones.

I didn't read the post in question but here's something from someone a couple years out of college. If I could go back and do something again, I would.
I have a FoST. Love it. Absolutely.
But I complain all the time that it isn't a truck...my first automotive love. At the time, I was looking for something fun to drive. Practical to a point. Impractical to a point. Perfect.
Oppo-inions aided my search but ultimately everything I did was my on my own accord. The real problem was that I never seriously considered a used vehicle. I was gun shy after some awful experiences with a 9-3 that my mom bought but I used and maintained. It was an absolute money pit and I didn't want to do it again.
But I have a loan, now. That loan is now a primary consideration in all my expenses. I need to find a new place to live within the next couple months and my monthly car payment is in the back of my mind the entire time. If I went for a fun car of the used variety then I would have some spare pocket change.
I don't regret my decision but I do regret not considering the implications of it. Do not worry about if you sound spoiled or immature or straight up stupid. When it comes to the automotive world, I am a self-proclaimed idiot. But I make up for it with a long standing fascination and enthusiasm for all things with motors/engines.
You have time. You have desire. You have something to work for now. Immediate gratification is not worth it...trust me. Do your thing, read between the lines on comments and know that when it comes to advice everyone will draw from their experiences when they respond to you. OPPO isn't perfect but the community knows its shit.

No apologies necessary, as far as I'm concerned, but do enjoy some decompression/drive time! That's always a good idea. Unless it's hailing or something. FWIW, in my experience anyway, the myth about how your youth and 20s are supposedly some magical rainbow-farting 10 or 15 years of unbelievable happiness is one of the biggest, steaming piles of Grade A BS in US culture (maybe elsewhere, too, dunno). I liked my teens and 20s, I had a great time with friends and camping and biking and so on, but it was also full of working my ass off for two degrees, holding two or more jobs at a time, a cheap car, cheap drinks, and shitty apartments. My wife and I would have contests of who could go the longest without a day off (she won, 31 days, I think). Like I said, we had a lot of fun and I wouldn't change a thing, but that whole "Those are the best days of your life!" thing is insane. Don't let it drive you insane, too.

don't worry about it. I didn't offer you any advice because most of what I would have said was said, but I don't think you came off as spoiled. You weren't the first person to post an idea like that, and you won't be the last! But I hope you realize there are better ways to go about getting what you want.

I read the original post just now but imma post here, and I don't want to sound harsh or anything, especially because I feel that a lot too, but be grateful for what you have. I'm 16 and non-stop everyday (especially because it's summertime) all I can think about is cars and I have literally no money and no job yet (also going to summer school for a failed computer science course), but, you have an ST FFS, enjoy every second of it.
