I know you can't reply because kinja sucks, but iRacing has a promo of 2 years for $99 from now til July 10. When you consider that in the 2 years you can earn $80 for racing that means $10 per year is the cost. Sure you have to actually race to get the $80 but isnt' that the point of having a subscription to a racing sim?

Wait, the game lets you earn money? How's that?

I can reply because I am better than Kinja.

If you run 8 out of 12 weeks in a given season they'll give you $4 or $7 iRacing credits depending on the level of the series. Like the GT3 series I just finished 9 weeks in i'll get $7 credit for.

i guess I should get a desktop for this. I don't really ,don't race online as it is now. Ps3 & gt6, some.
Would a g27 be enough to get started with?

the math is it still costs more to have the subscription (marginally) than it pays to race. $100 for 2 years still costs $20 more than earning $80 in 2 years. That said it is for iRacing credit rather than actual cash. Anyone involved in iRacing has no problem using those credits.

G27 is way more than enough to get started.

You don't need a super powerful laptop or PC to run it, but if you have a laptop it should be a gaming laptop. If you have a Mac it works on Apple stuff. If you do sign up please put rterps@charter.net down as a referral.

Correct. 8 out of 12. in order to count for a race you need to run at least half the laps of the leader. In a 30 minute GT3 race that basically means you have to run at least 15 minutes. Granted you need to do it in 2 series to maximize the credit ($10 per 12 weeks $40 per year $7 for the higher series $4 for the lower. One $7 series and 1 $4 series = $10)

Easy enough for the beginner series I guess. The next level up, like mustang and spec ford seem to mostly have tracks you have to buy which is annoying

There are certain tracks that will get you a long way (Watkins Glen and Spa are on almost if not all the schedules) But yeah if you only want to get the base content you are somewhat limited in regards to what you can race in order to earn credit.

I definitely want all the tracks. I think I'll work my way up and only buy them with credits I earn

That's one way to do it, but it is also a good idea to buy in bulk. They give solid discounts for buying 3 or 6 things at a time. Also they give $10 referral credits if you sign up so if you do please put rterps@charter.net down as a reference :)

I signed up a while ago, I've just been inconsistent with it. Also, I find the mustang undrivable with the starting setup and a controller
