It's a (very capable) off road vehicle from the late 1970s, still in production today. I don't go offroad myself so I have no need for it, but I do see the charm. They're dirt cheap too.

It's a classic! And it even comes with an airco! And look at those gear/4wd levers:

I know what it is, I can just admit (albeit without driving it) that it was probably crap in the 70s just as it is now.
I don't see the charm.

Gear levers are good. Not, in this case, near as good as those on an old Unimog but still good.

Maybe Russians are going after Range Rover and G-class. lol How can they still make this crap? It's a same old ass Niva from the 70's with a couple of plastic parts slapped onto it.

The Jeep Cherokee sure is a classic, love it a lot. But I don't understand your problems with the dashboard of a Niva it's clearly about the same quality of the dashboard of a Cherokee, it looks and feels almost as plastic as the Nivas:
And comparing these two by price is ridiculous: the price-new and running costs of a Cherokee are at least somewhat higher. About twice as high. But again: I love it.

No I was saying a 13 year old jeep is on par with that thing and would cost about the same. In all actuality the jeep would probably be a better car and I wrongfully assumed the Niva was like $8K. If its $11k in pounds thats what $14 over here?
Not trying to be a complete ass, just saying there is a reason its sold in Russia and not here.

And I was just trying to say that the Niva is still in production after over 30+ years which I personally find very impressive. And I dig the authentic looks. Believe me: I know it's not the best car in the world, my post was even meant to be a bit ironic.
And for that last argument: I know a few cars that are sold in Russia which the US don't get so better omit that argument...
