Are transmission issues really that common? I have a 4L60 in my '94 Safari and it's still on the original transmission.

Behind a V8 they are. Thats why the 4L65 came out quickly. The 4L60 was just an electric controlled 700R4 and while not as bad as the Chrysler 604 (notoriously bad trans) and the 440T4 (FWD Caddys) it had it's issues, but is a remarkably easy tranny to rebuild. The clutches were kinda weak but are easy to rebuild unlike a 604 which demolishes hard parts when it goes.

These trucks are solid, and I would gladly buy one. But it is overpriced for sure. My 09 Silverado was 18k when I bought it used. Newer and with less miles (had 34000 when I bought it).

It has the restyled interior and a year short of having the Vortec 350. I always kind of felt bad for this model year. It's like the puberty version of this generation of Silverado. My mom had a '98 Z71. That thing would rip the tires at will! Even if it had the Vortec 350, major CP.

Never hauling anything in the bed isn't unheard of, but never driving in the rain or snow, especially where I live, is just strange.
