These can be had for ~$35K with less than 10K miles. I think I have a new savings goal.

That picture just further confirms my belief that the Viper is really a Mazda Miata that just snorted a mile of cocaine in one breath.

but finding parts is a pain in the ass if something breaks, I remember my uncle had one of these, there was only one radiator that fit his model year in the entire US.

It'll be a few years before I can actually afford one and by then I'm sure I'll have another want.
But I think they are still monsters, 0-60 in 4.3 and you get all those badass V10 noises.

If you want a car that you can't sunday drive, by all means, get this car.
If you want a car that burns you every time you get out of it, by all means, get this car.
If you want a car that has absolutely 0 safety features, by all means, get this car.
If you want a car that is so unbelievably raw and takes a pure talent to tame it, by all means, get this car.
If you were born with a birth defect and your left leg is not as big as your right leg, by all means, get this car.
If you enjoy being stopped everywhere you go to let people sit in your car, by all means, get this car.

I planned on using it as a DD because, it's a Viper.
I mean burns might be annoying but, it's a Viper.
I think safety is overrated, that's not what these cars are about, it's a Viper.
I don't know if there is a better car to perfect my driving in, it's a Viper.
I think I have normal legs? But, if not, it's still a Viper.
I would probably be cool with people wanting to see my car, it's a goddamn Viper.
Oh yeah, I don't think I mentioned, IT'S A VIPER.

You better add some extra money to that savings for any body parts you may have to replace. If a hood gets ruined, your insurance WILL total it. Also, look into a good life insurance policy if you don't already have one.
P.S. - I have wanted a Viper since my 11 year old brain saw the first RT/10!!! Then I saw the GTS in '96 and the wants grew stronger...

I'd personally get a GTS as it has a roof, door handles and windows. Also WATCH YOUR HOOD. They cost more than the car itself and yes, people steal these just for the hood.

I have heard replacement parts could be an issue. And the Vipers are just all so awesome, definitely one of my favorite cars, the styling, the V10s, and those brutal exhaust notes. Someday I will have one, maybe not anytime soon but I'm still young.

I might just be biased... I remember looking at them and really wanting one when I was looking at the Vette. I was disappointed in what was available and the value/ dollar. As a collectors item or just to have as a thing of beauty they are great.

I understand. It's ridiculously cool, but it's also an engine and 4 wheels where everything else takes a backseat to that. I'm speaking directly to the lack of heat insulation. You can drive this for about 30 minutes and then you'll have to stop because your feet will be approximately on fire. Then when you get out, you'll have to pack another pair of jeans in the trunk to replace the ones which were burned by the exhaust pipe while exiting the car. It's hard as hell to work on because the hood hinges in the front and that massive V10 takes up every square inch of the engine bay. It's neat having people like your car, but when you fill up and 4 cars pull over to take pictures of your car and ask if they can sit in it... it gets a little tiring... and cops know who you are (ask me how I know)

If I can get one it won't be for a few years, and even then I think after I actually drive one I'll see that it isn't exactly practical. Nothing will change that these are incredible cars, definitely some of my favorites but ownership is an entirely different monster and I get that.
