I bit the bullet and bought it. Anyone ever want to know what it's like to play Assetto Corsa with a dual shock controller I'll let you know.

I didn't like the way motioninjoy worked, so I followed the process here:

it's now configured as an Xbox 360 Controller, which makes life a bit easier

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Motion joy was a tad glitchy in some games but absolutely unplayable on Dirt 3 so I had to find an alternative. I like this so much better.

Also just played some AC and it is surprisingly playable for a sim on DS3. Granted so far I have all the aids including automatic transmission on right now. I tried to start immediately with everything off but the main thing is once the car gets off balance it takes a steady hand to regain composure. Until I get a good feel for the games engine I am going to take my time and slowly turn the aids off.
