What if there was a new console for just one game, except that one game covered all genres extensively? Basically a high-powered computer with a preinstalled first-person Sims-type game, and then everything else is an expansion to that one game. You can add in weapons and a series of GTA-esque missions, or have your character go to war Call of Duty style. You can race, both on the track and on the street. You can play any sport or "become a coach" for the usual switching-between-players-and-controlling-everybody style. Even the unrealistic things can be incorporated, sort of as a video game within a video game. But in the end, everything is linked together one way or another, and all a part of the same never-ending game.

It would be utter garbage. Things on computers are not assembled in the same way as real life. Little tricks are done here and there to make games look and play more like real life by building them different from it. Like in Uncharted they tried giving Drake hair where they put in each and every strand individually and it looked and acted weird. They realized they could make it look and act a lot more like real life by building his hair out of flat sheets. You couldn't make a game that used the same physics for all kinds of different situations and have it still be good.
