can go burn in hell. Rusted/welded on, took a shitload of WD40, a handheld torch, and 50 minutes of swearing and using my leg to move a pipe wrench to unscrew the bastard. Underneath a car in 90 degree heat that probably should have been jacked up higher. Got the sensor out and oh look there are now no threads, just a big glob of metal. Just kinda hammered it back in place to the point where it will stay. No CEL yet.

Oh, and I put in a glasspack. Still have to cut off the old muffler, but it sounds pretty nice (I fired it up with just the glasspack and cat on, but no other pipes. Sounded mean)

I fought them off on my car and replaced all 4. It was a pain in the ads getting off 16 year olds.

My Miata's O2 sensor was not coming out so it took a heavy-duty torch to turn it cherry red, let it cool, and off it came!

Shoulda tried PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench before the WD40. PB Blaster is fucking magic in a spray can.

If you're going for new exhaust, maybe get a new pipe for the O2s? That and some anti-seize...

I don't look forward to O2s in the wagon because of how much of a PITA it is to jack the wagon up high enough to get to them. I don't really trust the ramps my dad has, and the rise is too quick for most of our cars to even get up them without a lot of wooden blocks as well.

I think we might have tried Liquid Wrench. I was handed a bottle and told not to get any of it on my skin. It didn't help much. The torch helped, though.

i actually keep meaning to return the liquid wrench that i bought because i just haven't touched it. I bought liquid wrench and pb blaster at the same time, because I had to get a stubborn fitting off, and the pb blaster was damn near instant. I'm sure it helped with the trans pan as well, but should have tried it sooner.

Funny enough about the skin contact thing, I need to check the G05 label for what's in it, because I was getting a rash from something, and it was either the coolant or refrigerant...nothing itchy, just a very obvious rash...not cool...

I hate working on old exhaust systems. They're just such a bitch to take apart without damaging them.

Much easier to buy a whole new exhaust system and angle-grinder the old one off, but i rarely have ~£1000 to spare for things like that.

after reading I came here to say WD-40 should be thrown in the trash or moved to the house for door hinges. It has no place in the garage at all. It's 90% solvent that evaporates quickly and the remaining lubricant is too light. Get PB Blaster, the ultimate penetrant, and a can of pure silicone spray for a lubricant. Never use WD40 on a car again!
