The 450 SL parked outside the AMI Exposition shows why it's considered to be an alltime favorite design. Just like Patrick Stewart it simply doesn't age.
The current M5 I found inside is of a different breed. I don't think it's particularly classy or tasty. It looks like a frowning bodyguard in a tight suit shielding Justin Bieber from hysterical teenagers. Imagine the menacing effect a towering guy has on those small pubescent girls. So in order to understand the M's design you have to view this car from a different perspective.
Not unlike an imposing movie character you should always try to photograph the M5 from a lower angle for the full effect.
Do you see the difference?
Perhaps surprisingly Chevrolet and GMC RVs are commonly found in Germany. And while some of them are pimped out with screaming colors, airbrush motives and sparkling chrome, this G20 offers the right mix of restraint and bling in my opinion.
But maybe that's just my love for those kind of steelies speaking.

Unlike the i3 the i8 was fenced off so that mere mortals like me couldn't lay their peasant hands on the car. I overheard someone who bitched about the fact that BMW won't offer the car with a V12. What do you think?

Okay, I'll end this post with another favorite of mine I saw at the AMI - A clean Opel Commodore in proper style with a toilet paper roll in the back window.
I'm getting close to fall hard for those old Opels...
