Dearest Oppo,
I am in the market for some new wheels, but haven't made up my mind. What do you think I should get?
So far leaning towards some 17" Enkei RPF1 or some OEM 16" R32 GTR rims (if I can find them for a decent price).

I recently bought Focals. Not well known. But theyre good looking. And pretty light for their price. If your on a budget check them out.

I don't think HRE knows that wheels can be made in a 17" diameter.

Of your choices, the Enkei's look best.
How about staggered? I think these rear tires are too tall, but I like the offset front to back

No.
No.
Maybe.
You're so Teutonic in your taste in wheels, Brian. Show some Nipponese love, my man.

My tastes are too expensive, and I have literally no knowledge about aftermarket wheels beyond HREs. So yeah.

They'll definitely be staggered if I don't go the GTR rims (even then I'll be looking for GTST rims for the front later on).
Ideal setup will be 7" and 8" wide with a +30 offset.. That'll be further out than they are now but with about 7mm tuck so I'm not rubbing if I hit a bump.

They look great, but I fear they are worth more than the car themselves. I only picked it up for $6k.

Oh. Well I have zero knowledge of aftermarket wheels, so yeah. That's that.

Back in the day Volk/RAYS was on the F1 grid, too. Japan had a fully-functioning economy back then.

TE37's are great. but pricey down here. If some came up second hand in the right size I'd jump on them in a heartbeat.

You say 'down here' Are you in Oz?
Hell, just through $5K in the wheels and $12K in the stereo and relive the 1990s the way they are supposed to be remembered.

haha yeah. Normally the carpark I took the photos in has a few Kangaroos hanging about and everything.
It's... already got the late 90's aftermarket stereo from the previous owner.
flip out telly, twin sub boxes, kicker splits. A pioneer media box under the passenger carpet so I can plug my N64 in via coax and play mario kart on the screen.

1: Nissan anniversary 5-spoke wheels. Staggered width.
2: These are my favorite, but I have no idea what brand or model wheel they are... but they look like McLaren F1 road car replica wheels.
3: Kosei 6-spokes look good, too.
Not sure what these are, but there are several variants of this simple 5-spoke racing wheel on the market.
Work Meisters look good on anything.
RPF1 is a good choice, as you mentioned.
Or split-5-spoke Advan style...

I have two friends with SW20's and they were both on a serious budget. One has OEM Z32 Nissan wheels.
The other took OEM FC RX7 Convertible BBS wheels, had the centers bored to the right size, and runs those on hers.

Great advice man, those wheels both look great.
did your mate with the Z32 wheels run a spacer for the fronts? the Gordaen wheel calculator puts those at pretty damn close to the front suspension. I've always wondered how accurate it is.

No spacers. I don't remember the tire size, but I can find out.

sweet, no hurry. They're not an easy wheel to come by down here either.
