Is there a more hard version of the Mustang out there, named under some sort of package or something? I test drove some sort of 2011 V6 premium model, but it felt more like a sedan compared to a Hyundai Genesis R-Spec (my main aim at the moment).

Mustangs are a pretty sedan feeling coupe. Not sure if you can get a model that doesn't feel that way. Unfortunately

On the V6, there's a V6 Performance Package. Upgraded suspension and brakes.
That's on a 2014 though, I don't know if there was such a thing in 2011.
(Get the Genesis, be different)

GT with track pack or BOSS 302

Hard versions of the Mustang?
V6 Performance pack, GT Track pack, Boss 302, Boss 302 Laguna Seca, GT500, and GT500 SVT pack.
Take your pick.
You probably drove a Mustang Club of America version.

Why yes, a V8 does tend to help with that.

I have to agree with Logansteno. If you are looking for PERFORMANCE you are not gonna get it with a dealer optioned mustang. Go import or get the V8.

As a genesis coupe owner, i can only say go for the genesis. You'll be surprised. If that's not enough to convince you, go watch reviews of the genesis vs muscle heads and you'll figure out why it's most definitely the better choice.

Yeah I think that's right. It had some fancy stripe on the side

Boss 302 Leguna Seca?

I'm definitely leaning towards it. I've driven some of the older R-Spec 3.8s and they were great, I am just waiting a few weeks to drive the newer model which I here has more power.
I just wanted to not count out anything.

If only I had the cash...

I would probably go Genesis over a V6 Mustang, but for the price of a 3.8 you might as well get a V8 Mustang.

I don't really know the genesis, but i own a mustang and its amazing in every way. Very much fun. I enjoy driving it every day, cruising or speeding doesn't matter. There are tons of things for them, bolt ons for performance or if you want to personalize it.
Note: The genesis is not hoon proof as a muscle car

The performance packages are mostly complimentary mods.
Brembos, summer tires and Recaros are the most effective options you can get from the factory.
You'll need to add your own springs and dampers to really wake up the car. Also better tires and brakes (and brake cooling).

Get the Mustang. Yes there are performance packages, but also, there are many aftermaket performance parts for it. So you could build your own package.

2011 V6 performance package
The main thing that a lot of people forget to mention about the performance package on the V6 and the thing that would have made it feel less gutless is the different rear end gearing. Mind you when you get that option you also change the fuel economy of the v6 model.
V6 Performance Package - $1,995
Alloy wheels: 19"x 8.5"; Front and rear summer 255 / 40 tires; 3.310:1 axle ratio; Driver and passenger and passenger door mirrors black; Strut tower brace; Front upsizing & rear SVT sway bar; Unique front springs; Unique front & rear calipers; Performance friction pads; Unique stability control calibration; Driver modes includes stability control; Excludes: [443] 6-Speed Automatic Transmission And [453] 3.31 Ratio Axle

Go import doesn't seems the right road, The V6 2011 and up with gears and bolt ons you're ready. V8 is more money, thats why hes asking about packages on the V6.

I hope the driver was running on low oil for Hyundai's sake. Seems like an engine in serious need of a good oil baffle if otherwise
