Kinja'd!!!2 Kinja'd!!! 9

So I leave for Italy for nearly 2 weeks next Tuesday. I have had this trip planned for almost a year.

One of the many things that I planned for was to have my at the time roommate (a person whom I've known since I was 10...) watch my dog while I was gone.

My roommate moved out about 2 weeks ago (by his own accord becasue he was unwilling to clean up after himself), but, while moving out told me "I'll still watch Bonnie for you while you're in Italy, not a problem".

Now, 5 days before I leave I get a text "I can only watch the dog till the 9th".

When I asked why the response I got was essentially I forgot and told someone else I would watch their dog.

Well what the fuck. You told me almost a year ago you could do it, and you said it would be no problem 2 weeks ago, but somehow you now magically forgot. and no longer have the time to let my dog out and feed her the last 5 days of my trip?

I already thought this kid was pretty much a piece of shit but now its a done deal. Now I have to scramble to find someone else who can help me out.

This is why my dog goes to a boarding place.

Yeah it costs money and sucks at short notice, but he gets to play with other dogs and I gaurantee no one flakes on me.

My dog was an adoption who spent the first 18 months of her life in a crate. I couldn't imagine what it would do to her for me to drop her off in an unfamiliar place where she gets locked away in a crate and then I just leave.

Unfortuantley no. I mean I know plenty of other people near me I could ask, but its just the whole principal behind the situation. My dog is familiar with him, he told me he could, and then last minutes he backs out. Makes me want to introduce him to the end of my baseball bat.

you gota find the right place really, but I understand the situation. Mine still has the occasional food aggression because he was born into a rescue that only used foster homes. Well the foster home had over 10 dogs and put 1 giant bowl of food and said good luck. A-holes

The place we go to has "rooms" not crates here's a link: http://www.hallidayspetresort.com/about/themed-r…

you can set up for the dogs to play outside with other dogs almost all day (they gotta chill out in their rooms some or they get over-tired) It even has a doggie water park.

For future reference, how big is he? I'm living in an apartment right now and I work full time so probably wouldn't be able to keep him at my place unless I end up moving into a bigger house.

haha, he's about 45 pounds, but acts like he weighs 100. And I swear he's as strong as a 100 pound dog. No question. He's not that big, but he's the fastest dog I've ever seen and a rock of muscle:
