I pulled up behind this gem on my way in to work this morning. A real live Land Rover Freelander! Driving on public roads and everything. It's got a busted brake light though.

Blech. These clog streets in suburbia.

Freelander problems are infinite.

I actually saw one for the first time last week, the owner works at Napa. Working there has to be the only way you can keep it on the road.

I would've figured that by now all of them had decomposed into semi-functional heaps that no longer appeal to their yuppie former owners.

I love the wheel covers with animals on them. So ironic that those Land Rovers will only get to see a Racoon, or probably a hedgehog as their wildest animal encounter.

Not busted just British.

Since I'm in Wisconsin, this Land Rover will probably encounter many deer.

Yeah, or even a squirrel.

A friend of mine had one of those in high school. It fell apart quickly, especially at the hands of a crazed Lebanese girl with not much regard for the idea of actually "paying attention" while driving.

These things sell at a local charity auction for less than worn out LeSabres from the late 90's. They never go for more than $350.

But how worn out could a LeSabre from the late 90s really be? It was probably driven by someone's grandma and only has 60k miles on it.

My family had two Freelanders before, a normal TDi and a Freelander Sport with wider wheels and lowered ride height. Regular early servicing meant that they were more reliable than most say. However, two problems always kept cropping up - first was a problem with the clutch mechanism, a cylinder would regularly fail. The mechanics told us this was regular.
They also had a weird issue of blowing the bulbs in the headlight. Always on one side and more frequently than we would've liked.

Yeah, but after Grandma it doesnt go to the charity auction. It goes to a commuter who puts a 100k miles of careless driving on it, or her grand kids who put 40k of even more careless, reckless, teenage miles on it, then it goes to a charity auction.
