I'm looking at a 93 f150 with the straight 6 and a 5speed 4x4. Super clean body minimal rust. Some oil leaking from the pan but no other leaks. Runs good, no blow by as far as I can tell, hesitated a couple times when getting on the throttle. Has 208000, the guy is asking 3200, worth it yes or no?

Seems like a perfectly functional, non rotted truck. I'd say go for it!

$3200 for 200k+ miles? Nope.

Q: Why do you want the straight 6?

only reason I'm even considering a vehicle with 200k miles is because the straight 6 is near indestructible. I know multiple people who have had them run past 300k with no major issues

that's kind of what I thought when I started looking for a cheap truck. But everything that's $1000-$2000 is falling apart and has high miles. Seems you have to go over $5000 before you get somewhat lower mileage trucks

There was a truck with 4WD, 90k miles on my local CL for $1400. I don't think it's still there anymore. It was a 97 F250 with the 5.8L, no mechanical issues

Where are you and how far are you willing to travel?

seems like everyone here thinks their truck is worth at least 1500 even if they don't look like they should legally be on the road so everyone with decent trucks naturally doubles that and just says "try and find a cleaner truck for the money" when you offer them less

Milwaukee, a couple hours would probably be the most I'd go and I'd have to be pretty sure I was going to buy it when I got there

There are many things that you would have to look for if it's worth $3200. How is the 4x4 drivetrain, the clutch, the suspension and chassis/body. Drive it at 55 and hit as many bumps as you can to check for problems. The engine is really the cheapest part to fix. Check if the tires are matching and how clean the interior is. Also check for any codes by hooking up a VOM to the diag connector to check for the hesitation. Everything else is a money pit if broken. If there are ANY problems, just walk away.

That 5L straight 6 is a great engine. Make sure the leak is not trans oil. Those 5 sp. OD trans do not take well to running low. $3200 seems a bit high. Work on him a bit.

Not for $3200. Especially considering with a 2.79 (or whatever the tallest ratio was) rear axle, Ford recommends that you DO NOT TOW ANYTHING with it.
This is because the Mazda 5 speed gearbox isn't well suited to truck use, and limits capacity so it doesn't explode.
$1000 for a runabout for Home Depot, is what you have there.
Disclaimer: I have a 95 RWD F150 with the 351W and E4OD automatic for towing duty.

Had a 93 with an straight 300-6 Greatest motor ever. I killed the autotragic trans, but never the motor and that was at like 250k doing farm work daily.

Because they are. I sold my 93 ranger, beat to shit and rusted out, not running with clutch issues. Sold it for $1000 to some Mexicans that were taking it back to Mexico. There are markets for trucks and parts that keeps their bottom end residual value above $1000
