G'Night...Hail Stopped

I guess I'm going to bed now. We just had a giant 2+ hour hailstorm. Winds were around 50 mph and hail was tennis ball size. At one point it sounded like there could have been a tornado. We have two leaks from a small roof, but that's all the damage on the inside. I just came in from inspecting the damage outside. There is 2-3 in of hail on the ground and creepy fog/steam everywhere. We only had one car outside, the Outback, but it might have minor damage. I could only find one dent,, but hail is covering 2/3 of the roof and hood. It's now 1 AM, so I guess I'll go to bed.

Too lazy to rotate.

Fog is not only creepy, it is terrifying when you're on a highway with Big rigs heavy traffic (happened to me once in texas)
Actually it was when i went to watch F1 in Austin last year.
Practice 1 was delayed because of this.

Right, i prefer a few dents on the car, than losing my car and finding it miles away on its roof

Tornado, tiny dents will never be fixed 100%, not even close to it. Ideally neither but every time there is a tornado warning in my area, the storm just passes through and never lands. Or it lands in a field for 2 seconds. When there is a hail warning, all hell breaks loose and if your car is outside you hope it's totaled.

In some ways, it's easier to come to terms with needing a new car than dealing with extensive repairs.

Of course, tornadoes are still much worse. My car is screwed either way, but hail isn't known to level houses. I would gladly sacrifice my car for the rest of my belongings.

The lightning though was crazy last night!! I'm not sure if the hail hit here but if so, I slept through it...my cars are safe in the garage ;)

Your car didn't get damaged right? FoCo has aloottt of messed up cars, quite a few being claimed as totaled even. We're under hail watch again till 11pm apparently here

The C30's were in the garage so they are fine. We had an Outback outside and it has some small dents on the roof. You don't notice them unless you are looking for them. I don't think we will repair it because it really isn't noticeable.

That's good :) Doesnt appear Loveland got hit at all by the hail at least, everyone in the FoCo auto group I'm a part of is all down today because a lot of their cars got absolutely ruined, including a Evo 9 that the insurance was like "oh, we thought you said you didn't want full insurance??" on, so..he's pretty pissed off, a WRX, a M3 lost it's rear windshield, messed up Mustang GT, Corolla, and Mazda 3... not sure all the victims lost, just glad my Z33 and my Beetle weren't among them

It's a X/T, so it already has the STi's engine :P

I was just out and I saw some cars with a lot of damage. I was watching the radar during the storm and the center was a few miles from my house, so I thought we got the worst of it. I guess not.

Yeah, I hear it was FoCo that got it worse, wouldn't suprise me with the damage I've been seeing, I don't know how Loveland avoided it. And I wanted a XT for the longest time, one of the best factory sleepers :D

My parents only drove it in "drive" and I thought it was pretty terrible. Earlier this year, I found out it had a "sport" mode. After driving it once in sport, I will never drive it again in drive. The engine sounds exactly like a STi! The overall driving experience is kinda eh, but it ALWAYS puts a smile on my face :)

Ours has almost 80,000 miles, low in comparison to others for sale, and we've received offers from dealers ranging from $6,000 to $10,000. One dealer offered $9,000 and they had one for sale with more miles for $15,000, so they are all very low offers. The fine print says the offers don't take into account trim levels or engines, so I don't think we'll be selling anytime soon.

If you can find one in good shape, I'd definitely recommend it.

If I had to combine a DD and a sporty car I'd still be looking, but I have a sports car now, need a truck to DD I think now..or a R8...because...well, who doesn't need a R8? .... I really want money...so I can use it all on a R8, lol
