I just purchased a 2004 BMW X5 4.4i for my wife. We were thinking about a new car, but decided to put it off for a year or two. In the meantime, we really needed a bigger vehicle. I found this X5 and it fit the bill. It was actually pretty clean, but the headlights were a disaster.
Detailing Pros of Colorado Springs owner Eric Leroy went to work on the X5 and the transformation was pretty incredible.
The rest of the car looks magnificent as well, though by the time Eric finished it was raining outdoors, so there are no spectacular after shots of the vehicle. This picture will have to do.
The other aspect we were thrilled with was turning the grey and dingy molding back to black.
And the best part? A sparkling engine bay, of course!

nice choice! My wife and I have been browsing X5s for a while now, but they've bee falling into the hands of, ahem, less-than-confidence boosting owners and I don't want to buy one that's been owned by some dirtbag who did no maintenance. Then the ones with maintenance records are overpriced...

I had a Pre-Purchase Inspection done. It showed some minor issues, the most expensive one, I googled and I am confident I can do the work myself. I have one other older BMW (an E46), so I'm not new. The key is to really pay attention to what has to be done and not cheeping out on parts and using the right fluids. I bought the wrong coolant and that cost me a cooling system. Ouch. But it's good now.

My aunt has a '13 X5 M I haven't had the chance to drive it yet but is that thing bad ass for an SUV. Almost as cool as my RAV.

Does the X5 have that BMW handling character? I've been looking at x5s for sale thanks to this post.

Hmmm. Yes. Sort of. It's different than my E46. I can't throw it around to be honest. It's plenty powerful. One can hit triple digits with little effort. It handles sweeping bends very well. But again, it's not 3 series.
