Fourza Round One post race

So here is the finishing order of Round One at Sebring.

1st place is mackleroy45 with 16 points

2nd place is SYS Spate with 15 points

3rd place is snadeau210 with 14 points

4th place is Kampfmesser with 13 points

5th place is IXII Wrath IIXI with 12 points

6th place is Higu1 with 11 points

7th place is sackofcheese with 10 points

8th place is Cherry Man 1 with 9 points

9th place is Dsigned with 8 points

10 place is x1800HowsMyDMRx with 7 points

Ill make a spread sheet later so its easier to keep track of all this.

Next sunday is a Fun race, again at 9PM Eastern. I was thinking spec NA miatas at Laguna Seca or Moonshiners, a cat and mouse race where the mice (moonshiners) are in lower class Ford Coupes and the cats (police) are in Chargers or some other old police-like car.

Vote on the fun race below, new ideas will not be ignored, they will be written down for future ideas at the very least.

Also, if you want to do the Moonshine race, some suggestions on what the police car should be would be good. Keep it old and American preferably.

One last point. For the GT points races, a few people, myself included, were thinking of running the rest of the GT races with simulation damage and tire wear ON. This will add the extra facet of pit stops, tire and fuel management and better tuning because the tire pressure will then be in effect.

To summarize,

-Fun race, Spec Miatas at Laguna Seca, or Moonshine Running.

-Police car for Moonshiners

-Simulation damage and tire wear for the GT series.

I would definitely say that if you're going to do true wheel to wheel racing in this you should either have all the damage turned on or have collisions turned off. It either needs to be a matter of who can put down the fastest clean lap(with collisions off so it isn't a matter of other people messing up your line) or full simulation so that people get penalized for shunting people off the track, although then some people will do nothing wrong and still end up with busted up cars. Idk, I guess it depends on how courteous you guys are, I know some groups I used to play with would never last with damage turned on.

There was plenty of contact during the race but nothing crippling. I was the cause of most of the contact since I cant see where the hell I am going in that damn Abruzzi. I think sim damage would be a lot of fun since it will add that extra layer to the racing. everybody kept it nice and clean except for a bit of rubbing in the braking zones when people over shot.

I am still not sure about full damage. There was a point last night when both mackleroy and I were battling for the lead with about 5 laps to go, and we both wrecked pretty heavily while negotiating lapped traffic. No one's fault, really, but without rearview mirrors, it is difficult to negotiate and get out of the way when the leaders are coming. That wreck would have likely taken out the two strongest cars last night (I realize that occasionally happens in racing). Additionally, lag online (which did happen occasionally after the restart), could affect the outcome of a race if damage was to be turned on and a lag-induced wreck were to occur (has definitely happened to me in public lobbies before). I think a fuel and tires option could be cool (not sure if that is an option in Forza 4), but, in my opinion, full simulation damage needs to wait for the time being.

The problem is, you need to have damage on for tire wear to be on. It would be too easy if you could have one without the other...

Ha yeah I figured. NASCAR 2000 has that option, but Forza 4 doesn't. That makes sense... Anyway, then my opinion would be to just keep cosmetic. I realize that tire pressures would not come into play, but, that being the case, just reset the tuned setup to the optimal tire pressure to compensate (i.e. practice, record optimal tire pressure from diagnostics after temperature is achieved, apply to setup). That's just my opinion anyway. The whole lag wreck and/or first corner wreck really can screw with an online race. Forza 2 had simulation damage standard for most online play (early days before updates). It was extremely rare for a good race to occur in those conditions. Anyway, that's just my $0.02.
