My mother's Taurus wagon had the same seating. Reliability on that car was horrible. and it only lasted us 5 years.

If you listen carefully, the Ford Squeak* opens up a wormhole into another universe.
When a Common Ford Sedan is given up on, it is not recycled, but implodes into that dimension, never to be seen on the road again.
The attempts to reinforce the cars from doing this, aka Panther, can only last so long.
Volvos are not that undurable, so again, why enamor people with a used car they may not replace for 10 years?
*"Ford Squeak"- A phenomenon wherein Ford company produced products will develop a noise during suspension travel and/or door operation. Probably some bushing that lasts 5 years. Either way you may not be able to unhear it.

So yeah..hmm. scenario is that maybe they're targeting the brick I mean vintage wagon owners. Your kids are grown up, sell off that wagon and enjoy slightly less angular styling. Please. We can't sell you a new one if you just keep driving that thing into the ground..

I love the idea behind these commercials, but like other recent Volvo Commercials, they completely flop on trying to sell the car.
