Drove my girlfriend to the airport this morning and took a route down the West Side Highway on the way home - great views of One World Trade shining bright in the morning sun. Oh and it was a rented Mazda 3 - god I love the steering in that thing.

That area needs more tall, futuristic buildings. Those two need to be replaced witch such buildings.

No way man! There's enough construction going on already.

What year Mazda3? I've been debating picking one up to replace the Corolla.

You do know that one of the biggest landmarks of NYC is the skyline, if the skyline remains frozen, and land is occupied by stubby old buildings like that, people will started to be attracted by other skylines, such as Shanghai...
...Frankfurt...
...London...
...Tokyo...
...Doha, Qatar...

My point is that New York cannot slow down in its purpose of having one of the best skylines in the world, and it cannot give up fight for an urban F1 race just because it would cause some traffic problems and would bother some eco minded hipsters.
It doesn't seem to bother the rich dudes from Monte Carlo.

2012. I think that's a no-brainer personally.

First of all, I'd like to think we don't have to show off too much.
Second, do you live around here? So much of Manhattan and the nicer parts of Brooklyn and Queens have already been transformed into playgrounds for the wealthy and the global that calling out for the skyline to be transformed is a little belated. It's happening all over - the Hudson Yards skyscraper complex is one of the biggest developments under way in the world right now. And there's a cost to all this! The "old stubby buildings" generally have a lot more character and charm than the sleek glass edifices that replace them. The people who live here don't really care about the skyline.
I obviously agree about the F1 race though.

If it wasn't for money and time to go car shopping, I'd have done it already :) Thanks for the information!
