This ad is fantastic, and is just adding to my desire to get a Jeep.....I mean sure, Landcruisers are better, and my friends Raider is more interesting, but there's just something about these, I love the ubiquity.

That looks like a 4cylinder. If it is stay away.

Get the 4.0L I6, avoid the 4 cyl models like the plague. The TJ has coil springs rather than leafs so go with that if you can.

Are the 2.5s really that bad? Good to know about the springs

Yeah I think it's the 4....

Oh my god they're gutless. A 4 cyl has maybe 105-130 hp NEW.

Yikes......sounds like my friends Raider. over 4000lbs with 114hp.....nothing could stop it, but it would take all day

Well the Jeep is lighter at around 3400 lbs, but they're really really slow. The I6 is a good, reliable engine with enough torque to drive on the street.

If the poster spent that much time writing the ad, yet avoided mentioning the engine, it is definitely a 4 cylinder.

Listen to MtrRider. I owned the 4.0 liter Jeep TJ Sport with 5 speed manual and it was a capable car on road and mountain. It wallowed at higher speeds on the interstate and got terrible mileage, but the 4.0 was great everywhere else. Tight turn radius, compact form factor, great in snow and mud, and plenty of oomph to get you up a grade. The ride improved once we upsized the tires.
And will it baby? Oh yes, it will...
