Autocheck score is 38, normal is 11-29, so it's definitely in good shape history wise.

Apida, quick question, you're in jersey right? I have a buyer coming to purchase my flip tomorrow. The dad called me up asking if I would leave the plates on so he could drive home with them. What are the implications here? I'd rather not, but I am not sure the protocol. When i hesitated the dad said he has bought all his cars privately like this and he just mails them back when he gets home. Is this what you do? Can you fill me in on what I should be doing? Do I cancel my insurance the minute he signs the title and drives off? Lost seller here, no idea what to do. Thanks in advance.

The legal way is to take your plates off, hand him the title, wait until he registers and insures the car, and then set up a time when he can come with his plates and drive the car home. If he's taking the car home, he's essentially borrowing the car from you until he registers it. If you feel he's trustworthy, it should be no problem. But keep in mind if commits any crimes in the car, it will be your responsibility because the title is not yet registered in the buyer's name. He also might not send the plates back. Some people just don't care, or forget. It's a risk, but use your judgment on it. You can cancel your insurance when he drives off, yes.

Ok, do you do it the legal way? Ive had a few inquiries about the registration, and at first didnt know why they were asking or cared. Now it dawned on me that it's because they want to "borrow" the plates to drive it home. I don't know the buyer from any other stranger on the street. But he is coming from almost 2 hours away. Not really sure what to do here. Should i blow him off and just wait for a local buyer?

Neither way is illegal per se. In the eyes of the law, you're essentially letting him borrow the car until he registers it. People ask about registration to make sure it's not the subject of a title skip or curbstoner. I always ask about that since it at least shows that the car was owned and driven by the person selling it. Again, it's up to you to trust this guy or not. The person I sold the S600 to was an elderly man that owned a Jaguar XJR. I spoke at length with him and it seemed like he was a straight shooter, so I let him drive the car home with my plates, and he sent them back in a few days with no issues. If he's coming with cash from 2 hours away, what you can do is make 2 bills of sale and have both of you sign it, and take a picture of his license.
