I have very significant reservations about lane splitting. I will do it with 2-4 cars. Beyond that, you are asking for trouble. It has to be done at a low enough speed that you can stop if necessary.

Yeah, it sure should depend on amount of traffic and speed, like you said. The cyclist in the video was going waaaaaaay too fast.

If I rode a bike I'd be way too afraid that something like this would happen to me, or someone trying to change lanes in a jam and blocking the way. Scary stuff.
