Does that work while the car is in Drive (assuming Auto)? Or at least if you're in neutral but coasting?

I knew someone was going to try this!Software would fix it. But I'm not convinced switching the key off while driving would disable the airbags on this car. The passive/active safety features are insane, and the vehicle's CAN's take a few minutes to shut down, meaning the control modules would still be awake and aware the vehicle was in motion when you realized you had shut the car off.

I am almost positive that:

1. The car would not shut off while moving with a simple button press.

2. Wouldn't matter if it did, some type of sensor or something would realize what was happening and the airbags would still deploy in case of a collision.
